I am wandering around India right now. The weather is hot and humid, with a few monsoon showers thrown in. I have vowed to travel light, but my time here will entail a long list of social engagements, the Eid festivities included. Limiting my makeup stash given the travel allowances has proven to be a tough call, but I have narrowed down to a top 10 list of makeup products that have made it into my travelling makeup bag.
- The Balm Voyage Volume 2 Palette: This delightfuly chirpy looking palette was made for travel, and manages to squeeze in 9 eye-shadows, 2 blushes, 1 highlighter, 1 bronzer and 2 lip and cheek stains into one compact palette that is as sleek as my passport! - Becca ‘The One Perfecting Brush’: A brush that replaces 10, and can be used interchangably between your foundation to bronzer to blush and everything in between?! This is a ‘can’t live without’ makeup tool that is an absolute essential for travel. Read my complete review by clicking here.
- Gosh Primer Plus+ Illuminating Skin Perfector: A multi-tasking product that is enhanced with natural skin-loving ingredients to give the complexion an added glow. I have used it as a foundation base, and even on its own. Read my complete review by clicking here.
- Shiseido Syncro Skin Lasting Liquid Foundation: This liquid foundation is super easy to apply (especially with my Becca brush above!) and gives my complexion a very believable dewy, flawless finish. Best of all, it has a built-in SPF of 20. Read my complete review by clicking here.
- Becca Lowlight Highlight Perfecting Palette Pressed: I am rather obsessed with this powder palette. It makes contouring a breeze, and love the shimmer of the highlight. Promise to do a full review with swatches soon, watch this space!
- Hi Impact Brows: This compact little palette only has 4 shades, but it never fails to amaze me how many looks I can achieve from these 4 alone. I use the third shade from the left for my brows, and all 4 on my lids. The black shade is even pigmented enough to use as an eyeliner. Read my complete review by clicking here.
- Shiseido Full Lash Volume Mascara: Currently my favorite mascara, this one comes with a curved brush which helps get to the pesky little lashes at the edges. The formula is buildable, smudge-proof and best of all, can be removed easily with warm water. It really opens up my eyes, and gives my barely-there lashes a newfound elevation of drama.
- MAC Lipstick in Flat Out Fabulous: We all have a signature lipstick shade, and for me it would have to be the vibrantly ‘berry’ Flat Out Fabulous by Mac. A bright pout instantly brightens up a jet-lagged face, and this particular shade has great staying power. Being a fan of matt lipsticks, this is right up my alley. - Naturalmente Breathe Skin Therapy Green Tea Lip Cream: When wearing matt lipsticks, it is essential to start off with very smooth, well-hydrated lips. Matt lipsticks can be particularly unforgiving on dry, peeling lips and that is when this gorgeous lip cream comes to the rescue. Read my full review by clicking here.
- Sephora Express Cleansing Wipes: Small and compact enough to fit into your pockets, this wee pack of wet wipes will swipe away the most stubborn of makeup including waterproof mascara without drying out the skin.
