The Northern Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah is slowly but surely turning into a tourist destination, and this holds true for both the international and the local UAE market. The quiet, laid-back space and the scenic beaches is a welcome change for city dwellers, and other local attractions include:

Why go camping when you can go #glamping ? The hospitality industry has coined this new phrase by marrying the experience of the big outdoors with the convenience and luxury of resort-style living.

Bin Majid Beach Hotel launched the Longbeach Campground late last year, and my little family and I were one of the very first people to have the pleasure of spending the first night under the stars, in a beautifully setup tent (click here if you missed it).  I absolutely loved the experience, and really didn’t think it could get any better.

But the team at Bin Majid Beach Hotel have outdone themselves with the launch of their second season last weekend. The entire campsite has been given a major facelift, complete with three very different styles of tent options, an infinity pool and an outdoor floating cinema. I could hardly recognize the place! This is #glamping at its best.

If you are following me on Instagram (my handle is @thetezzyfiles) you’ve probably been bombarded with my Insta Stories and posts from our mini break at Bin Majid Beach Hotel. Located on the scenic beach strip of Ras Al Khaimah, this 4-star property is one of the oldest and well-loved in the Northern emirate, and for good reason too.

Imagine a bonfire by the beach, a tent on the sandy shores, the waft of a decadent grill… and all this inclusive of the amenities of a 4-star hotel.

The weather is absolutely perfect for camping outdoors, but why take the hassle of setting up base when Bin Majid Beach Hotel has you covered?

Last weekend we had the pleasure of being a part of one of the most unique hotel ventures in the UAE… the Bin Majid Beach Camp.

Last Thursday saw us in Al Ain. For my day job, I put on the marketing hat for a retail giant here in the UAE, and we will be opening our very first store in Remal Mall this month.

Remal Mall is the newest addition to the mall scene in Al Ain, and is strategically located in the populated residential area of Al Sanaiya. So far only 30% of the mall is operational, and the management plan to have it up in full swing by the end of this year.

The mall has a distinctively Arabesque architecture, and after my meeting with the management, I discovered the perfect place to sit down and relax: the food-court on the topmost floor leads to the roof of the mall, and has a number of cushy seats for idly enjoying the evening breeze. I can envision this space being taken over by a shisha lounge in the near future!

Flying into Sharjah? A stay at Centro Sharjah might be just what you are looking for.

The stylishly contemporary lifestyle business hotel is a stone’s throw away from Sharjah International Airport (we could even see the airport from our window!), and my family and I had the pleasure of being invited to try it out for ourselves last weekend.

If you have been following me on Instagram, you already know where I’ve been last weekend. Lucky me, I was enjoying a chilled-out staycation at Oceanic Khorfakkan Resort & Spa.

Set on the East Coast of the UAE, Khorfakkan is a quaint little township sandwiched between the scenic beauties of the Arabian Sea and the Shumayliyah Mountain range.
