Imagine going for just 2 nights away, and Instagram telling you that your Insta Stories can’t take any more uploads… that’s how click-happy I got throughout my weekend away at JA Resorts, Dubai’s largest experience resort!

Located in a quiet corner of Jebel Ali (Dubai) and minutes away from the Expo 2020 site, JA Resorts is a sprawling 128-acre resort boasting of three 5-star luxury hotels (JA Beach Hotel, JA Palm Tree Court and JA Lake View Hotel), an 800 meter private beach, a world-class golf course and tennis courts, 25 restaurants and bars, an equestrian center and so much more.

Last weekend was spent in the heart of the capital city, Abu Dhabi. We booked a Junior Suite at 5-star hotel Millenium Al Wahda. The hotel is located in the midst of the city, offering a great vantage point of urban life. A large, modern structure with Arabesque detailing, the hotel is conjoined with Al Wahda Mall and the residential side of Millenium Al Wahda.

Being an expert at getting lost with Google Maps, I drove into the residential side of the hotel yet the valet was kind enough to accept my car there. We dropped our luggage at the concierge, and headed to the hotel lobby to check in.

Last weekend, my baby girl Farasha and I headed out to spend a weekend of leisure, pool time and great food at newly opened Hyatt Place, Wasl District Dubai.

Being over-confident with directions and over-trusting Google Maps, I ended up at Hyatt Place Jumeirah instead! I was assuming ‘Wasl District’ was in Jumeirah, but it turns out this branch is bang opposite Al Ghurair Centre in the heart of busy, bustling Deira, Dubai.

Travelling someplace new and looking for a comfortable stay that doesn’t cost your entire travel budget? Or perhaps you’re on the lookout for a weekend getaway within the UAE itself?

Take the hassle out of bookings (and the travel agent’s commissions!) by downloading the OYO app. Available both on the Apple and Android Play Store, the OYO (or On Your Own) app is the world’s third largest hospitality chain, and has already been in the UAE for a year now.

If you’ve been following my Insta Stories, you already know where we were last weekend 😊 We were in Al Ain, the ‘garden city’ of the UAE. We had a room booked at Al Ain Rotana, one of the oldest properties in the Emirate which also happens to be the only 5-star property of Al Ain as of now.

We drove into Al Ain a little past 12 noon on a Friday afternoon. Loved cruising through the near-empty roads! We were there in a little over an hour.

The beauty of the Al Ain Rotana property is its flat, spread-out structure. Not your typical towering hotel building here, but rather a collection of mid-heighted structures with a spread of exclusive villa properties, spacious greens and wide, inviting pool areas.

Last weekend, I flooded my Insta Stories with live updates from our weekend away at Radisson Blu Ajman. This is one of the Radisson Blu group’s newest hotels and opened its doors a little over a year ago.

Located in a quiet corner of the industrial heart of Ajman, the grandeur of the hotel façade stands out with its European-inspired arched windows and astute driveway. The location is actually ideal for tourists wanting to explore the Northern Emirates as it is just off-road from the E11 highway that connects Ajman, Sharjah, Umm Al Quwain and Fujairah.

2019 has been a super busy year so far, but busy in a good way. All my weekends have been packed with socializing or eating out or photography activities and I’ve been craving a good old quiet, under the covers laid-back break.

I recently got an invite to spend a night at the Marriott in Al Jaddaf, Dubai and thought this would be the perfect low-key break I’ve been wanting so badly.

The Northern Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah is slowly but surely turning into a tourist destination, and this holds true for both the international and the local UAE market. The quiet, laid-back space and the scenic beaches is a welcome change for city dwellers, and other local attractions include:

Why go camping when you can go #glamping ? The hospitality industry has coined this new phrase by marrying the experience of the big outdoors with the convenience and luxury of resort-style living.

Bin Majid Beach Hotel launched the Longbeach Campground late last year, and my little family and I were one of the very first people to have the pleasure of spending the first night under the stars, in a beautifully setup tent (click here if you missed it).  I absolutely loved the experience, and really didn’t think it could get any better.

But the team at Bin Majid Beach Hotel have outdone themselves with the launch of their second season last weekend. The entire campsite has been given a major facelift, complete with three very different styles of tent options, an infinity pool and an outdoor floating cinema. I could hardly recognize the place! This is #glamping at its best.

If you are following me on Instagram (my handle is @thetezzyfiles) you’ve probably been bombarded with my Insta Stories and posts from our mini break at Bin Majid Beach Hotel. Located on the scenic beach strip of Ras Al Khaimah, this 4-star property is one of the oldest and well-loved in the Northern emirate, and for good reason too.
