First there were sheet masks, and now we have rubber masks! I got this rather freaky looking mask from the Sephora beauty event early last month, and finally decided to give it a go.

This, my friends, is the Moist Lover Rubber Mask by Dr. Jart+, yet another innovative skincare product from Korea that is exclusively available at Sephora in the Middle East.

As the name suggests, the sole purpose of this mask is to really, really up the moisturizing level of the skin. Given I have normal to dry skin, I was hoping my face would really soak up all that moisturizing goodness.

Beauty Review: Boscia Luminizing Black Mask

I recently got introduced to Boscia, a brand new skincare range that is debuting the shelves of Sephora Middle East this spring. The brand is new to our region, but has been around for a while and has a fan-following across the globe.

The main premise of the brand lies in the belief that the best skincare can be sourced from plants. Their plant-to-bottle formulas are loaded with good-for-you ingredients sans any chemical nasties. Sounds like my kinda brand!

I was therefore very excited to receive a tube of their best-selling mask, the Boscia Luminizing Black Mask. 

The main ingredient in this mask in activated charcoal. As you may be aware, I love activated charcoal. Read my earlier post on its benefits by clicking here. Activated charcoal really does act like a magnet to pull out debris from the skin.

Friday is mask day for me, so what better way to rejuvenate than with a mask that promises to deep-clean with the added bonus of luminosity?

Beauty Review: The Max Factor Pan Stik Foundation

When it comes to foundations, I always believed a higher price tag would guarantee a better finish. I rarely use foundations, and reserve them for special occasions or a bad case of breakouts. I therefore have very few foundations in my makeup stash, most of which range on the higher end of the pricing spectrum.

Swedish makeup brand IsaDora is still relatively new in the UAE, although the brand was established way back in 1983. Reasonably priced, fragrance-free and clinically tested, IsaDora can be bought across a long list of retail outlets including Lifestyle.

Going Blonde: 15 Tips & Tricks for Maintaining Blonde Hair

Rewind a few years ago, and I would have never thought I could carry off blonde hair with my tanned complexion. And then the whole balayage revolution takes over, the two-toned hair coloring technique that makes you look like you live on an exotic beach. The upper portion remains darker (great for lazy bums like me as we don’t have to scoot to the salon for retouches), and from midway down its a whole load of artsy strokes of blonde!

Balayage is a work of art, and I wouldn’t trust any hairdresser to get it right. My hair was done for the second time by the very talented Roger from Station 10 Beauty Salon in Ramada Jumeirah hotel, and I am absolutely loving it! I’ve gone a little lighter on the blonde from last time as you can see below, and I hope to keep it that way for as long as possible.
