Friday is Mask Day! After a long, tiring week of work aptly followed by eventful nights of socializing early into the dawn of Friday mornings, I like to snooze till late into the day and treat myself to a face mask right after breakfast.

Last Friday, I treated myself to yet another fabulous mask by Oleva+. Made under the licence of Oleva France, the entire range is created under a great deal of scientific scrutiny. Although sheet masks originate from Korea, the Oleva+ range is made in the Oleva+ lab in China.

Here I am in the Oleva+ Moisturizing Bio-Cellulose Mask:

How do you like your eggs? Scrambled, soft-boiled or sunny side up? This morning I had mine in the form of a sheet-mask, infused with skin firming collagen 🙂 This is the Egg Cream Mask by Korean brand ‘Too Cool for School’, yet another interesting addition to the skincare range at Sephora Middle East.

I’ve always been a fan of mud masks. Nothing seems to work quite as well at really pulling out the excess grime that a daily scrub and face-wash fail to retrieve. However, in most cases, slapping on a mud mask can be a messy affair that is often reserved as a specified weekend chore.

I am already a huge fan of StarSkin face masks, and was therefore absolutely elated to receive samples of their brand new clay face masks. But wait! These are in sheet mask format. How does that work? I was intrigued.

I had the pleasure of being invited for a sneak peak of Sephora’s Winter 2016 lineup, and let me warn you to tighten those purse strings… the new season range, set to hit the stores from 1st December 2016, is sure to make you go broke! There were just so many things I have added to my Christmas wishlist… a brand new storage system for all my makeup stash being one!

However, space should not be an issue with Sephora’s very own Geometricolor Palette. With 80 eye-shadows, 32 lip glosses, 6 eye-liners, 4 brow powders, 4 blushes, 4 contouring powders and 1 generously sized mirror, you have an endless list of makeup possibilities with this beauty!

Contouring and highlighting is here to stay. Struggling to achieve the perfect balance of chiseled and glowing? I have a secret to share with you… I am absolutely obsessed with the BECCA Lowlight Highlight Perfecting Palette. This powder palette features a ‘highlight’ and ‘lowlight’ for adding light and shadows to bring out the best in your features. Being powder-based, the colours can be worked up to go dramatic for a night out or subtle enough to use on  daily basis.

As many of you might have noticed from my last few posts, I have recently gone significantly blonder (click here if you missed it!). I’ve been a little cynical about going lighter as, in the past, my blonde streaks (often mixed in with a red base) tended to go a brassy orange after a month or so.

Scanning through the shelves of Lush, one of my all-time favorite beauty brands, I came across these bottles of Lush Daddy-O Shampoo. A helpful staff member recommended it for keeping my blonde streaks bright and brass-free, and I was sold! They had a sale going on, so I actually walked out with their largest, 500 ml bottle. Nope, never tried it before this financial commitment… I’m pretty much a sucker like that!

Two weeks in, I am relived to say I am so glad I bought the bigger, more economically-sound bottle. Lush’s Daddy-O Shampoo really is a God-send for ‘unnaturally’ blondes!

Have you seen my brand new blonde hair on Instagram? 🙂

But first, let me tell you my hair coloring story so far… I’ve been experimenting with my hair color since my late teens. I started off with organic henna-infused hair masks, and I loved the hint of amber it lent to my tresses. My hair is naturally a deep, dark brown and seems to seep in colors very well. By my early twenties I was buying DIY hair coloring packs, and was known in my circle for my fiery red hair. I believe it gave me an edge, and made meek old me stand out that little bit more among a crowd of strangers.

The Numaish Festive Fair came in with a sizzle, and ended with a bang. Last weekend saw a steady traffic of fashionistas filling up the narrow alleys of the exhibition, spoilt for choice with some of the finest designs and weaves from the subcontinent.

Citibank is Numaish’s official banking partner, and premium cardholders got access to the Citibank lounge where they could take a break from the shopping and sip on tea and coffee… and on Day 1, they even got to hang out with me 🙂

Wearing makeup to achieve a ‘no makeup’ look may sound like a major paradox, but the whole idea behind it is to enhance your natural features. There is something very refreshingly youthful about minimalist makeup. It gives the wearer a sense of carefree confidence, an ‘I woke up looking like this’ feeling we would all love to achieve.

As with anything to do with makeup, there is no right or wrong way at achieving this look. Do what works best for you. Here are a few pointers that may help you with the ‘No Makeup’ makeup look:

I have always had an inclination for organic beauty brands, yet I thought this genre was restricted to skincare. I’ve tried a number of organic makeup products in the past, but somehow the intensity of colors and length of wear never seems to match up to the conventional stuff.

Exciting news… I recently got introduced to a brand new organic beauty brand called Naturalmente, and they have this entire range called Breathe Makeup Therapy which offers very wearable makeup range. Every product offered is loaded with skin-loving organic goodness, and today I want to give you an insight into their Powder and Bronzer.
