Beauty Review: Egg Cream Mask by ‘Too Cool for School’

How do you like your eggs? Scrambled, soft-boiled or sunny side up? This morning I had mine in the form of a sheet-mask, infused with skin firming collagen 🙂 This is the Egg Cream Mask by Korean brand ‘Too Cool for School’, yet another interesting addition to the skincare range at Sephora Middle East.

How cute is the name ‘Too Cool for School’?! Makes me feel like a teenager all over again…  yet I have to admit I had no clue what sheet masks are back in the day, let alone the importance of face-saving collagen.

I looked up the website for Too Cool for School. They do makeup as well as skincare, all bundled in very cutesie collector-worthy packaging you would expect from the Far East. I look forward to seeing more of the brand’s range on the Sephora shelves in our region, but for now we can make do with their sheet masks.

The Too Cool for School Egg Cream Mask is one of the newest Korean sheet masks at Sephora Middle East, and as the name suggests, it is absolutely drenched in eggs… 1,000 ppm of highly concentrated egg yolk extract to be precise!

Key Ingredients

  • 1,000 ppm of highly concentrated egg yolk extract: too deeply nourish
  • Collagen: to increase skin elasticity and firmness.

Tezzy’s Experience with the Too Cool for School Egg Cream Mask

Does it smell like eggs you ask? I had the same inhibition, but thankfully the answer is a big ‘NO’. Infact, it has a faint floral scent… perhaps to mask the eggy scent of the mask (what a masquerade of irony!).

I for one don’t like the idea of using a scented mask, but I can’t find any fragrance listed under the ingredients either.

According to the instructions, you need to apply a facial toner before using this mask on a cleansed face. This is a first… usually sheet masks are used on a cleansed mask, and drench the face with a serum of its own.

The mask itself had a great deal of product on it, and it felt welcomingly cooling as soon as I put it on. However, I felt this sheet mask was a size too small on my face… it neglected the edges of my jawline, and gave my eyes an awkward squint.

According to instructions, you can keep this mask on for 10 to 20 minutes, but I went a few minutes beyond 20. My skin seemed to have really lapped it all up, and I rubbed in the remaining product with little difficulty.

Does it firm the skin? Can’t tell with a first time use, but it definitely gave me a refreshed glow… the kind you get after a relaxed few hours in the spa.

Would I use this mask again? Definitely! Do I prefer it over Eggs Benedict? Definitely no.
