The French have always been the epitome of style and perceived beauty. From shabby chic interiors to munching macaroons and going on a Chanel No. 5 high, we have all aspired to bring out the Parisian in us in one way or the other.

Last week I had the pleasure of being a part of the launch of a French skincare icon, Rogé Cavaillès. From body lotions and oils to an entire range of body washes and intimate cleansers, the brand has been keeping the French beautiful since 1924!

We are inundated with beauty brands in the market, but how many will survive the near-centennial mark? There are a number of factors that has made the brand Rogé Cavaillès such a phenomenal success:

Isn’t online shopping an absolute Godsend? I for one am a total online shopping addict. Given my crazy busy schedule of working full-time, juggling home, mummyhood and a blog to boot, my trips to the malls in my off-times have become very limited. And don’t even get me started on weekend parking woes!

Given I am a beauty junkie (which lead me to beauty blogging in the first place), one of my favorite online stores is BasharaCare.com

Bashara Care boasts of one of the widest range of skincare, hair care and makeup needs in the Middle East, and they do same day delivery to beauty junkies like me living across UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman and Bahrain. Yes you heard that right… same day delivery! These guys have absolutely amazing customer service!

Before I get too carried away about this online gold mine for beauty needs, let me tell you about my latest Bashara Care delivery; the Urban Veda Purifying Day Cream.

I was having a serious case of mid-week burnout last Tuesday, and really needed a dose of self-pampering. Sometimes retail therapy really doesn’t cut it, and nothing beats the quiet, aromatic serenity of a beautiful spa.

Spa Zen at Nassima Royal Hotel has built quite a repute for its long list of holistic treatments, and their newest addition is The Royal Hammam Ritual.

If there is one great makeup news so far this year, it has to be the launch of Lime Crime in Sephora! I’ve been an avid fan of the brand ever since I found them online via Pinterest, and have been buying their products from the States ever since. So glad we can now get our Lime Crime fix right here at our friendly neighborhood Sephora branch!

Lime Crime has been pioneers in many ways. They brought in the whole concept of matte lips, and their lipstick shades are anything but conventional. And then there’s their iconic Venus palette…

In a world of nudes and smokey-eyes, Lime Crime created this absolutely stunning masterpiece. The Venus palette offers 8 full-sized eye-shadows ranging from earthy tones to unconventional neutrals and rusty reds.

If you are a beauty junkie living in the UAE, I’d be very surprised if you haven’t heard of this one. The Sephora Cinescope Mascara has to be the brand’s biggest launch so far in 2017.

Fan-clad beauties have been flaunting dramatically dark, voluminous lashes across the Sephora store adverts and outdoor hoardings, and what better way to make the ‘full fan lash effect’ claim more clear than to showcase the product with a matching Asian-style fan?! Gotta love the ingenuity of the brand!

The Sephora Cinescope Mascara was launched in the UAE this January, and I got sent a tube to try in ‘Ultra Black’.

I was at the Sephora Spa Party this week at Mirdiff City Center. A Sephora store is like a child’s candy shop for grownup women. Not only do they continue to surprise us with innovative new products (many under their own brand name), the stores also offer mini salon services and makeup tutorials. We’ll get to those deets in a separate post, but today I want to tell you about DAFNI.

A Sephora exclusive (only available in the Mirdiff City Center branch and the online store), DAFNI is a hair straightening ceramic brush, made for super busy/lazy people like me! How is it different from other styling tools in the market? Read on for more.

I am a huge fan of natural beauty, and am always on the lookout for beauty products made of natural, ethically sourced ingredients. I was therefore very excited when I got contacted by Khadi.

Named after the iconic spun cotton that gained patriotic status with Gandhi’s ‘Khaadi Movement’ way back in 1918, the Khadi beauty brand has been around since 1963 and has only recently become available in the UAE through their online store.

I was sent a lovely assortment of Khadi goodies, and have been incorporating these into my regular beauty regime.

Friday is Mask Day! After a long, tiring week of work aptly followed by eventful nights of socializing early into the dawn of Friday mornings, I like to snooze till late into the day and treat myself to a face mask right after breakfast.

Last Friday, I treated myself to yet another fabulous mask by Oleva+. Made under the licence of Oleva France, the entire range is created under a great deal of scientific scrutiny. Although sheet masks originate from Korea, the Oleva+ range is made in the Oleva+ lab in China.

Here I am in the Oleva+ Moisturizing Bio-Cellulose Mask:

I am an all-out lipstick junkie, and can be pretty experimental with my choices. To me, a bright pout screams confidence, and I am as comfortable sporting a nude as I am a perky purple, and even a goth-inspired black.

However, even if you shy away from color, chances are you own a red lipstick (or two… or ten!). One of my favorite brands for lipsticks is MAC Cosmetics, especially their matte range. Their color range is wide and varied, and many of their shades have become iconic the world over. For reds, the MAC Ruby Woo and Russian Red are shades that are (literally) on every girl’s lips, but one that is not as talked of is the MAC Chili.

I am always over the moon when I receive goodies from Shiseido, Japan’s best known premium beauty brand. Shiseido has earned a global reputation for their breakthrough, innovative skincare and makeup ranges, but very few talk about their fragrances.

I have never used a Shiseido scent before, and was rather intrigued when I received this pretty little 20 ml bottle of Shiseido Ever Bloom Eau De Parfum. The packaging, with its pale pinks and the very astutely structured bottle, is oh so feminine and classy. I was rather intimidated about actually putting it to use… it is a showpiece in itself!
