How about a private cabana on the beach, sipping on fine wine while you watch the sunset fade into the lull of the deep blue Mediterranean sea?

Two weeks prior to V-Day, my husband and I tried out the beach cabana last weekend, and the long-winded drive up to Ras Al Khaimah with groovy love songs from the nineties in full blare to add to the mood.
The cabana is located on a secluded corner of the beach, and a row of lit candles guide you down the aisle like a bridal procession. The twinkling lights on the billowing white curtains, the white linen covered table decorated with blooms, and an entourage of staff exclusively at your service, adds to the glam factor.
Bookings start from AED 399 including soft beverages and a set 5-course meal. We went for the AED 499 package that comes with chilled wine (red, white or sparkling).
The continental menu includes a round of Creamy Wild Mushroom Soup laced with truffle oil, a set of tropical-inspired amuse bouche (from which the salmon-wrapped asparagus spear was my favorite), a fresh burrata salad, a choice of mains (surprise, surprise… my husband had the steak, and I had the salmon… we need to get less predictable!) and, in tune with the romantic setting, a heart-shaped red velvet cake.
More than the food, its the experience you have to make a booking for. The setting is right out of a chick-flick. The candles, arranged on the sand before us in a heart-shape, may seem quite cliché, but hey! Isn’t a commercial date for romance all about mush?
We got there at 5 pm to get a glimpse of the sunset. You really do want to get the magical shots of the setting pre and post dawn! Bookings need to be done 36 hours prior, and are not restricted to Valentine’s Day; for after all, a real romantic can do with a setting like this any day of the year!
