Last weekend, I caught up with my childhood friend Sara and her gorgeous little girls at Moombai & Co at H Hotel, Dubai. The retro-style Bollywood inspired venue had me awestruck the very first time we visited, and still holds its magic every time I’ve visited since.
Adding to the gastronomic charm of the place is the headline
news that Moombai & Co has now been taken over by celebrity chef and
restauranteur Hari Nayak. Chef Hari Nayak is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America and has
worked across the United States, the UK and Paris reintroducing the culinary
art of Indian cuisine in a more simplistic, globally viable format.
Eid is just around the corner. What are you planning to wear?! Fret not, I’ve got quite a few nifty tips and tricks that will have you sorted 🙂 And you won’t be spending a fortune either! Read my article in this month’s Masala magazine. Click on my Instagram post below for more.
If you’ve been following my Insta Stories, you already know where we were last weekend 😊 We were in Al Ain, the ‘garden city’ of the UAE. We had a room booked at Al Ain Rotana, one of the oldest properties in the Emirate which also happens to be the only 5-star property of Al Ain as of now.
We drove into Al Ain a little past 12 noon on a Friday afternoon. Loved cruising through the near-empty roads! We were there in a little over an hour.
The beauty of the Al Ain Rotana property is its flat, spread-out structure. Not your typical towering hotel building here, but rather a collection of mid-heighted structures with a spread of exclusive villa properties, spacious greens and wide, inviting pool areas.
I love mall-hopping with my
little girl. It’s our mummy-daughter bonding time, and one of our favorite
shopping destinations has always been Dubai Festival City Mall.
Apart from a wide range of shopping
options including the two anchor tenants Ikea and Robinson’s which do not have
stores anywhere else in the city, Dubai Festival City has a great selection of
restaurants and cafes, and the spectacular IMAGINE show that takes place every
half-hour at the harbor front is absolutely magical for kids and grown-ups
Last weekend, I flooded my Insta Stories with
live updates from our weekend away at Radisson Blu Ajman. This is one of the
Radisson Blu group’s newest hotels and opened its doors a little over a year
Located in a quiet corner of the industrial
heart of Ajman, the grandeur of the hotel façade stands out with its European-inspired
arched windows and astute driveway. The location is actually ideal for tourists
wanting to explore the Northern Emirates as it is just off-road from the E11
highway that connects Ajman, Sharjah, Umm Al Quwain and Fujairah.
Last weekend, we stayed at Radisson Blu Ajman, and had
dinner at Filini. The fully licenced Italian restaurant has stunning, welcoming
interiors complete with a real-life Vespa at the front, a rose-gold coffee urn
and other interesting artifacts from an Italy we envision when flipping through
I am a big fan of Suchita Stylista, the Indo-Western fashion label created by locally based German-Indian designer Suchita Pandey. With roots in the heart of Rajasthan, the collection is inspired by the folklore of cultural fabrics and hand-dyed traditions yet recreated for the silhouette of the modern woman.
When Suchita asked me to showcase some of her latest designs, I turned to my very talented photographer friend Nervijo Photography for inspiration on a mood board that will be apt for the Suchita Stylista story.
A night’s stay at five-star property Marriott Al Jaddaf includes a complimentary breakfast at their all-day dining restaurant, The Market Place. The breakfast runs from 8 am till 11 am and covers a wide range of international breakfast favorites.
Having over-snoozed in my comfy queen bed with the curtains
blocking out the morning sun well past
9, all my good intentions of doing a few laps at the pool post breakfast were
forgotten and we headed downstairs a little past 9.30 am.
We spent a very restful, pampered weekend away at Marriott Al Jaddaf (Dubai) and during our stay we visited Scots American Grill for dinner. This fine-dining steakhouse is located on the first floor of the hotel, offers a unique menu that is a fusion of Scottish fine foods with a new-age American flair. They have an entire lineup of steaks as well as enticing seafoods, and the very helpful staff are more than happy to assist with your choices.
