When it comes to an authentic Pakistani meal, Barbeque Delights always comes up as a family restaurant I’d recommend. I’ve dined at their Downtown Dubai branch a number of times and was recently invited to visit their newest branch at The Walk, JBR.

It was a lazy Friday afternoon, and armed with two girlfriends and two kiddies in tow, we ordered an entire table-full of divinely delicious delicacies.

If you are a kebab lover, Barbeque Delights has a wide range of classic favorites available here. Loved their Seekh Kebabs, their moreishly soft and succulent Malai Chicken Tikka, and my favorite was the very rustic cumin encrusted Chapli Kebabs.

I am also a huge fan of Pakistani Haleem, and the one here has the perfect hit of green chili and fresh ginger spiciness. However, my favorite main course dish was the Chicken Kadhai. Unabashedly spicy and authentically served in a cast-iron wok with a side of naan bread, this classic ‘curry’ has always been a personal favorite when it comes to Pakistani cuisine.

And how can a Pakistani lunch be complete without a plate of biryani? We decided to try their Prawn Biryani. The rice pilaf was beautifully aromatic, and what I loved best was the flavor of prawns accentuated with a spicy red ‘masala’.

One of our friends is a vegetarian; and although Pakistani cuisine is rarely commended for vegetarian dishes, I was very pleased to see they had quite a few options for her. Loved the crisp battered okra which we had as a part of our starters round. We also tried the Barbeque Paneer, and a very fiery hot Daal Makhani with a side of assorted naans.

We drowned it all with freshly squeezed juices and Mango Lassi.

If you happen to be in The Walk JBR, I’d suggest you treat yourself at Barbeque Delights. The food here is absolutely delicious, and its pretty refreshing to be able to eat an authentic meal sans any new-age remix. As an added bonus, the interiors of this restaurant are so Insta-worthy! Loved the mosaic flooring, the turquoise walls and Pakistani pop art that was juxtaposed at every corner. So grab your gang and book a table here. It’s the ideal spot to while away a lazy, laidback afternoon.
