Best Beauty Picks from 2015

We are marching towards the end of the year. Where did 2015 go? Like every passing year, we hit our personal milestones.

As a beauty blogger, this year has introduced me to a plethora of beauty products, many of which have become a ‘can’t live without’ staple.

Today’s post is a compilation of my top 10 beauty products, all of which I only got introduced to in 2015. Read on, and perhaps you can suggest something new to me for 2016!

1 Murad Perfecting Serum: Serums were one of those beauty products I scoffed off as a marketing gimmick. Why add yet another product to the already product-heavy skincare regime, I thought. I got the Murad Perfecting Serum for a blog review, and must admit its worked wonders for me. Blogging life can be pretty hectic, add crazy late hours and a full-time desk job and mummyhood to the mix, and my poor sleep-deprived skin was begging for mercy (and additional hydration). The beauty of this serum is that it absorbs right into the skin, with no hint of extra greasiness. One bottle down, and I could see a youthful glow to my complexion despite 6-hour sleep nights. I’ve been stocking up ever since.

Red Flower Lemon Coffee Blossom Olive Stone Scrub: It comes with a hefty price tag, but you really have to sniff this scrub to understand why I’m so obsessed with it! The zesty coffee scent takes me back to the zen of a spa experience, in the comfort of my very own tub. I also love how hydrating it is, and I don’t even need a body moisturizer right out of the bath.

3 Lime Crime Velvetines: Lipstick made for unicorns! The colour palettes are crazy cool, the packaging ultra cute, and apart from being a tad bit dry on the lips, the colour pigmentation lasts all day long.

4 Inglot Flexi Palette: When you just don’t have the dough to splurge at Sephora, Inglot is a colour-crazy paradise offering high-quality makeup at unbelievably good prices (eye-shadow for AED 35 anyone?!). And when I discovered their Flexi Palette, I was hooked! I’ve created my very own palette of colours, and love how I can easily carry this about when travelling.

5 When Face Masks: Brand new on the Sephora shelves is this pack of 5 super-hydrating face masks, each targeting different skin concerns. Its hard to pick a favorite, each one of these have worked beautifully on my skin, and are my go-to ammo of choice for a last minute skincare boost.

6 Kiehl’s Daily Reviving Concentrate: This is yet another ‘do I really need this?’ product. Like all Kiehl’s products, it is loaded with skin-loving goodness and you just need a mere 2 to 3 drops every morning right after a dab of serum. The zesty ginger scent is a lovely wake-me-up, and the skin has an added glow of hydration throughout the day. Sunshine in a bottle, I tell you!

7 Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse: A multi-purpose dry il that smells absolutely divine, and has been a beauty secret among French women for over a century, it is of little wonder that the Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse won the Aquarius Beauty Awards (an event at which I very proudly took part as Reader Judge).

8 All Good Things by Lush: I’ve always been a fan of heavy, spiced, musty scents and tend to steal a few sprays from Hubby’s stock. All Good Things by Lush ticks all the boxes for me, and also happens to be unisex. I also love the deep, dark, family-oriented story that goes into its making.

9 Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Overnight Hydrating Masque: Skincare while you sleep? Yes, please! And this mask really delivers on its promise the morning after with baby-soft, glowing skin. Perfect for late-nighters like me!

10 Too Faced Cocoa Contour Kit: The Kardashians made contouring a part of everyday life. Although the most touted contouring palette out there is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Cream Contour Kit, I prefer using a powder kit for a less dramatic, everyday look. The Too Faced Cocoa Contour Kit looks adorably cute, is super easy to use, can be carried around anywhere, and best of all, it smells divinely delicious!
