#onmyface : A Touch of Purple

I’ve always been a beauty hoarder. I am a marketer’s dream (ironic, considering I’m a marketer myself!). I fall for the latest gimmicks, and the prettiest packaging, but I seldom play with my paints.

After attending a number of beauty events as a blogger, I’ve become more adventurous in my quest of morphing into a makeup artist, and the recent months have seen me splurging on a number of gorgeous brands, and gorgeous, gorgeous colors.

Follow me on Instagram to see more of my makeup trials. This is what’s #onmyface today:

This look centers around the Too Faced Chocolate Bar’s Semi-Sweet eye. Incase you’ve missed it, read my complete review on the Too Faced Chocolate Bar here.

For once, I decided to follow package instructions, and tried out this look from the leaflet that came with the palette. So glad I did! It almost looks like a smokey eye, and I love the play of browns and purple. It is so wearable for day, and I can vamp up the look with darker lips for night.

I accentuated the purple for this eye makeup look by lining my waterline with Makeup Forever’s Aqua Matic Water-Proof Glide On Eye-Shadow in Iridescent Pop Purple. I love this range of eye-shadow pencils! The colors are beautifully vibrant, and best of all, this range is waterproof so I don’t end up with panda eyes by the end of the day. It really stays put all day long, and only comes off with a good wipe of oil.

I lined my upper lids with Makeup Forever’s Aqua Liner in Diamond Multicolor Black. This deep black liquid liner has a subtle shimmer of gold, and actually works well with a whole range of colors. And this liner is waterproof too! Gotta love Makeup Forever and their water-proof Aqua range. They claim you can even swim with this on (haven’t tried that yet!).

On my lashes, I used the No. 7 Lash Impact mascara. Read more about this volume-enhancing, long-lasting mascara here and here.

On my brows I used Makeup Forever’s Aqua Brow Kit in Dark Brown. This nifty little kit comes with a little filler brush and wand, and the product itself has a gel-like consistency that helps to refine and shape the brows. Best of all, its water-proof too!

On my lips, I’m wearing Makeup Forever’s Rouge Artist Intense in Antique Pink. I’ve finally found a pink I absolutely adore! It is perfectly matte, and goes wonderfully well with a bronzed, contoured face.

I contoured my face using the Too Faced Cocoa Contour kit. Isn’t the packaging adorable?!

I love the delicate scent of chocolate on this kit, and as a powder contour, the look is subtle and not as harsh as when you’d use a cream product.

It comes with an angled brush which is of surprisingly good quality for a free brush. I like how the bristle is angled, making it easy to contour lines and angle around the creases of the face.
