BoxPark Dubai has become a bit of a dining institution in the city. Who would have thought that creating a whole lineup of retail space using discarded shipping containers can turn so iconic? #OnlyInDubai if you ask me!

BoxPark houses some of Dubai’s most happening eateries and quirky fashion labels, and is especially enjoyable given the lovely alfresco weather we are enjoying right now. But who would have thought that a topnotch, fine-dining restaurant (that too, very stiffed collared and French!) can open inside a box?! With gilded walls and cascading chandeliers, Café Des Artistes is BoxPark’s newest ‘kid on the block’. We had the pleasure of dining there a week into its opening, and the place was already overflowing with enthusiastic diners.

Whoever said modesty can never be fashionable needs to pay a visit to the UAE. The humble Arabic Abaya is worn here with so much style and panache. Traditionally a long, black cloak that covers its wearer from the shoulder to the ankles, this simple, loose-fitting garmet has morphed into a whole new array of styles and colours.

I love matte lipstick, but these shades tend to be drier on the lips. It is therefore very important to prep the lips with a high quality, moisturizing primer before applying a matte shade (or any shade for that matter). Your lips will thank you for it!

How about a highly moisturizing lip primer that also goes a few steps further by promising to add plumpness to your pout? Here is yet another brilliant new addition to the Sephora range: the GlamGlow Plumprageous Matte Lip Treatment.

Hooray for yet another long weekend! What does an ideal weekend mean to you? This is exactly what Wkend Magazine by Khaleej Times asked me 🙂 Do look up my little write-up. Happy Long Weekend peeps!

Le Meridien Hotel & Conference Centre (conveniently located near Dubai International Airport), is one of the oldest hospitality institutions of the city and also happens to be a treasure trove of foodie finds.

One such gem is Casa Mia. Aptly translating to ‘my home’, I absolutely love the cottage-inspired interiors of this space. The service is topnotch, the wine selection immaculate and above all, the food here is incredibly ‘delizioso’.

Cheers to the long weekend! And if you are about to indulge in yet another round of retail therapy, you might as well splurge your wallets someplace outside the malls and grab a few uniquely stunning bargains.

Numaish is back with the Numaish Winter Show, and it is taking place at Murooj Rotana this Saturday 10th December from 11 am to 9 pm. Skim through the stalls of some of the best upcoming fashion designers from India, Pakistan, the UAE and the United Kingdom and stand out from the crowd in stunning ethnic and Indo-Western outfits that are guaranteed to ooze envy in your social circle!

One of the talented designers to look out for at Numaish is Aiman Agha. Following the footsteps of her father who specialized in traditional embroidery, Aiman went on to graduate from NIFT Delhi. Her style pays homage to traditional Indian embroidery, yet somehow manage to be boldly modern and perfectly befitting for the woman of today.

The Numaish Winter Show is set to take place this coming Saturday 10th December at Murooj Rotana. The exhibition is a great time to check out the latest in Indian fashion and stock up on trendy ethnic and Indo-Western pieces.purvi doshi

The exhibition hosts a long list of well-known Indian fashion designers, and one paticular designer I am especially keen on meeting (and hopefully shopping with!) is Purvi Doshi. Her self-named label has already created waves in the Indian fashion industry. Her pieces are traditional yet timeless, and the sole premise of her brand is sustainability, and being kind to the eco-system. I had a wee chat with Purvi. Read on to know more about her latest collection, her stance on Indian fashion and tips on how to stay ethnically and ethically chic!

Princess Diana has gone down in the pages of history as arguably the most striking beauty to have lived in the Buckingham Palace, but a lesser known fact is that she had highly sensitive skin. As a public figure, the pressure was always on to look her glowing best and she brought together the world’s best dermatologists to create a special potion to keep her skin at its optimal best.

No expense was spared, and only the finest of ingredients were used. The secret ‘recipe’ got leaked, and the Lush Gorgeous Facial Moisturizer was born.

Retailing at AED 330 for a 1.5 oz pot, Gorgeous is one of the priciest products to be found on the shelves of Lush, and for good reason too. It is absolutely loaded with the finest of skin-loving ingredients. As an ardent Lush fan, it was high time I got my hands on a pot of Gorgeous. After all, if it is fit for a princess it will surely be good enough for me, right? Read on for my verdict.
