The very thought of oiling my hair has always been rather icky to me. Sure, I love a good hot oil massage, but hate the feeling of lukewarm oil on my scalp. Many hair oiling advocates even urge sleeping in with a head full of oil… the very thought of slick, stained pillows and greased up cheeks in the morning turns me off.

Yet my hair is crying out for some serious TLC. All that hair coloring has stripped it of its natural moisture, and a regular hair conditioner is just not cutting it.

Like a prayer answered, I was sent this bottle of WoMn Cosmetics Hair Moisturizer with Brahmi and Hibiscus Oil from my favorite local organic beauty brand Womn Cosmetics. But how am I to fit hair oiling sessions into my busy lifestyle? You have to keep the oil on your tresses for atleast 3 hours (and rookies do an all-nighter). I certainly can’t show up with a greasy, limp scalp at work, and this month is chockablock with post-work blogging events.

Do you have a similar dilemma to mine? If so, read on for some sneaky tricks on squeezing some much needed (oily) TLC for your tresses:

#TrueStory A couple of weeks ago, we got a call from our building caretaker. He tells us that the apartment right under us has been complaining about leakage from their bathroom roof.

The culprit is our bathtub… whenever we shower, our neighbours get a spray-down of it too! Pretty grotesque, but what was even scarier was when the plumber came around.

Turns out the clogging in the bathtub drainage is equivalent to a heart-attack of sorts. The pipes, like clogged up arteries, gave way to a major piping breakdown… and it was cholesterol. It was my hair.

The Imperial Suite at Fairmont Dubai took on a beautiful hue of blush pink, and an absolutely stunning array of pink-themed desserts sat on the table infront of me.

However, this was no ordinary afternoon tea, but rather a celebration of the global solidarity in the fight against Breast Cancer.

In association with Friends of Cancer patients, local celebrity designer Arwa Bait-El-Mal who creates stunning modest-style silhouettes under the label Juri Fashion, dressed up 6 brave, beautiful women, all of whom are breast cancer survivors.

Last week I was sent this wee parcel, and got especially excited to see that it has been sent all the way from New Zealand. I felt a pang of homesickness as I haven’t been back in over a year.

New Zealand has to be the most pristine, naturally beautiful country in the world (but as a Kiwi myself, ofcourse I’m biased!). It is therefore very exciting to get introduced to Antipodes, a natural beauty brand based on organic ingredients derived from New Zealand.

Antipodes is a genuine ‘green beauty’ brand that is proudly conceptualized and created in New Zealand. Certified vegetarian, Antipodes is designed for eco-conscious world citizens. Click here for more information on the Antipodes brand ethos.

Established way back in 1979, Rasasi Perfumes is a household name in the Gulf region. This family business was spearheaded by the very enterprising Abdul Razzak Kalsekar who is still overseeing the business today, along with his six sons.

I spent an afternoon in their City Centre Deira branch last Friday morning, and was in awe with the very beautiful, spacious interiors of the store. The store takes cues from simplistic yet classy Parisian design. On the one end is a selection of oud chips, and an array of long-necked glass bottles with interesting perfume potions that can be mixed together and customized.

My eyes caught sight of the absolutely stunning enamel bottles that were on display. Each look like a work of art, and I was quite certain they’d cost a fortune. To my surprise, most of these retail for under AED 200!

Last week I spent a really fun-filled afternoon in Ikea, and no, I wasn’t shopping for home improvements!

This Swedish home furnishings giant has built a solid reputation over the last few decades, but what makes the brand even more endearing is their stance at being accessible to all, and their very core idea that family comes first. Apart from affordably priced furniture with (almost) easy DIY assembling steps, Ikea’s inbuilt restaurant is almost always packed.

I have an inside joke about my hair. While others talk about the cliche ‘silky mane’, I claim mine’s more like cotton in texture (even bordering linen on particularly dry, frazzled days). With all that bleaching, the constant humidity and a need for washing it out far too often, my hair is crying out for some serious TLC.

Already a huge fan of the sheet masks and many of the innovative skincare products that fall under the ‘made in Sephora’ umbrella, imagine my excitement when Sephora announced the launch of its very own overnight hair masks!

The world of skincare is full of buzzwords. Many come and go, but one that has retained the test of time and gets regularly recommended by respected dermatologits worldwide is Hyaluronic Acid. But what is it exactly, and how can an ‘acid’ be good for our skin?

Last week I had the pleasure of attending the Sephora Fall 2017 launch event. Every girl worth her makeup bag eagerly awaits anything to do with Sephora, there’s always something new and exciting happening here.

I got a sneak-peak of many of the brand new Fall 2017 beauty goodies that are hitting the Sephora shelves this October, and wanted to share a rundown of my favorites here with you…
