Tezzy’s Experience of the Antipodes Moisture-Boost Natural Lipsticks
I am a huge fan of natural, organic beauty and have been pretty successful at incorporating this into my daily skincare regime.
However, when it comes to makeup, natural beauty has been an epic fail for me. For one, I have never come across a good quality lipstick that claims to be ‘natural’ and also fulfill my need for high color pigmentation.
I was therefore thrilled with these beauties from Antipodes! The color pigmentation for a makeup product that also happens to be certified organic is absolutely amazing! Have a look at the swatches below:
Antipodes labels these as ‘matte with a hint of shine’. To me, the finish is a cusp between velvet and satin.
Unlike most of my matte lipsticks, these really do feel moisturizing on the lips, albeit a little heavy. It feels like a highly moisturizing lip salve, but with a far deeper color payoff.
The color stay is also pretty remarkable for a ‘natural’ lipstick. It lasts me through a quick breakfast and ample cups of tea and chugs of water, but calls for touch-ups after particularly greasy lunches (lol! don’t ask!).
Of the three summer shades, my favorite is the very vivid Dragon Fruit Pink. It perks up my lips with pretty pinkness, makes my teeth look brighter and wearing a bright lippie like this means I can keep the rest of my lipstick to a bare minimum.
The Dusky Sound Pink is a lovely neutral that would look great with a smokey eye and deep, sultry contouring.
The Golden Bay Nectar is a tad too subtle on my complexion, and barely shows up at all even in a swatch. This one is better suited for fairer skin as an everyday nude.
