Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair Deep Conditioning Mask Review

I’ve been a peroxide blonde for nearly 3 years now, and pretty addicted to the color. The countdown is on for a recoloring session, but I’m dreading the backlash the chemical cocktails have on my hair. Bleaching strips my hair of natural hydration and gives my ends this hay-like dryness that is definitely never hitting the glam-squad charts any time soon.

I’ve invested heavily in leave-in hair serums and conditioning masks. Most seem to work, but only temporarily. And I find myself dousing my mane with conditioning promises and finishing off bottle-fulls by the week.

I had the pleasure of attending the Fall/Winter 2018 Sephora Middle East press launch last month, and got introduced to Briogeo; a natural hair-care range hailing from New York.

Key Ingredients:

This mask is made of 98% naturally derived ingredients, and falls under the ‘Don’t Despair Repair’ range which is specifically targeted for dry, lifeless hair.

Rosehip Oil: You already know this is my all-time favorite facial oil (read more here). The hair loves it too as rosehip oil is rich in essential fatty acids that hydrate and to prevent frizz and split ends.
Algae Extracts: Rich in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants that protect from damage.
Almond Oil: Enhances the shine and luster of dry or weak hair.
B-Vitamins: Restores nourishment to hair damaged by heat or chemical treatments.

Tezzy’s Experience with the Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair Deep Conditioning Mask:

This is the very first Briogeo product I’ve had the pleasure of using, and hands down it has to be one of the best hair masks I’ve ever used! My super-dry, chemically treated hair laps it up and even a 5 minute session with this mask on gives me visibly great, hydrated results.

Last night, I used it on damp hair, and put on my steaming shower-cap (yes these things exist! Try a salon-like hair fix for yourself. I bought mine from a small dealer on my recent trip to Ras Al Khaimah, but you can find similar ones here and here). I left it on for a good half an hour, rinsed and blow-dried. My hair looks visibly healthier, feels incredibly soft and frizz-free and smells so good that I can’t help sniffing it every few hours.

The recommended use is once a week, but I’m going for a twice a week spin as I’m planning to book an appointment with my hair colorist soon. This newfound hair hydration is going to keep me blonde for longer 🙂

This mask won the Allure The Beauty Expert 2018 Award for Best Hair Conditioner, and after using it for a mere 1 week I can totally see why.
