My family and I had the pleasure of spending a weekend at Jumeirah’s newest hotel this month. Trendy new Park Regis Boutique Hotel is quite a stark contrast from what we are used to in the UAE. No expansive lawns or swimming pools, no towering buildings or suited chauffeurs to usher in the traffic.
Instead, you have a trendy, Arabesque 2-storey building at a street corner that can easily be mistaken for yet another villa on the expansive street of Jumeirah Beach Road.
For parking, they have an automated car park (probably the only hotel I’ve seen having it here in Dubai) where the robotic service stows away your car. Unfortunately, we went in our 4-wheel, and were told it doesn’t fit! So, we had to go for roadside parking instead.
The interiors are beautifully modern with Arabesque accents, and the lobby looks welcomingly cozy.
However, our suite took me by surprise! The minuscule exteriors guile the massive size of this room. There was enough room here for my little girl to cycle up and down had she brought along her bike!
The room, with its gorgeous wooden accents and rattan finish, is right out of an interior design magazine. A flood of sunshine welcomes us through the balcony, and we have a direct view of the hustling street of Jumeirah Beach Road.
What I loved here were the little touches. They had a bottle of iced sparkling grape waiting to be popped open, and a generous box of complimentary munchies to go with it.
And best of all, my little girl was gifted a very adorable stuffed camel who she promptly decided to name ‘Regis’ after the hotel.
If you are looking for an activities-packed weekend away, this hotel is not for you. They are small, refined and made for some quiet time away. We played UNO, indulged in some quality reading time and watched a whole lot of Discovery Channel.
Another point to note is that the free Wifi in the property is very fast! You can easily download favorites off Netflix here.
By 5 pm, we headed off to Jumeirah Beach which is just a 5-minute walk away. Great spot to get sunset photos with the majestic backdrop of Burj Al Arab in the background!
Jumeirah Beach Road has an endless lineup of fancy cafes and restaurants. We had a leisurely walk down that evening and indulged in our favorite Scoopi Café and treated our daughter to a Happy Meal at McDonald’s.
Other notable landmarks in close proximity to the property include:
- Kite Beach
- Burj Al Arab
- Wild Wadi Water Park
- Dubai Water Canal
- City Walk
- Madinat Jumeirah
- The Dubai Mall
- Burj Khalifa
A stay at Park Regis Boutique is therefore ideal for the discerning tourist who wants to take in more of the sights and sounds of the city than waste away precious time by a hotel poolside.
A room stay at Park Regis Boutique includes a complimentary breakfast at 21 Grams, a very upmarket café-style restaurant with a very unique menu featuring the cuisine of the Balkans. This is probably the only Balkan restaurant in the UAE, and the a la carte breakfast proved to be a real treat. More details coming up in a separate blog post!
Overall, we had a very relaxed, chilled out stay at Park Regis Boutique. The room was so invitingly beautiful, the bedding cozy and comfortable, and the room service absolutely immaculate.
Park Regis Boutique is a quiet stay away, yet right in the nook of all the Dubai action. A juxtaposition that makes it ideal for the discerning traveler who wants to discover the city, and recover from all the fun.
