Hooray its Thursday! The weekend is finally here. Looking for dining options tonight? If you are a true-blue seafood fan, I would highly recommend the Seafood Night at Ballaro, the Italian fine-dining restaurant at Conrad Hotel (Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai).
The expansive buffet has you covered with all things seafood, with a wide variety of world cuisines to boot. From sushi to fish & chips, they have something here for even the most discerning diner.
My absolutely favorite dish here was their soulfully flavorful Laksa Soup. Not everyone has Laksa on the menu offerings, and not everyone can do it justice. I really wasn’t expecting this quality from a buffet, and was so blown away that I had not one but three greedy servings!
Their salads section takes on two aisles, and features a wide selection of cold seafood medleys. One of my favorites was this delightfully colorful Seafood Capsicum Salad featuring an exotic mix of treasures from the sea.
Another salad I’d highly recommend is the Seared Tuna Salad, a Japanese-inspired creation that is oh so fine-dining.
Love fresh oysters and mussels? Eat your heart out here!
They also have a live station, where you can choose your catch of the day and have it grilled the way you like it. We feasted on freshly grilled pomfret, salmon and skewers of mixed seafood.
Staying true to their specialization in Italian cuisine, the Ballaro Seafood Night also has a live risotto station. The mixed seafood risotto is so dreamy-creamy, but I just wish I had more of an appetite left after all this decadent feasting.
The smallest portion of the buffet is the desserts aisle, and even here you have over 10 items to choose from. Despite having a major sweet tooth, I actually opted to end my night with a bowl of Laksa. Loved the lingering exotic flavors on my palette.
The Ballaro Seafood Night runs every Thursday from 7 pm onwards, and costs AED 250 inclusive of soft drinks (or AED 325 inclusive of house beverages). For bookings and other inquiries, give them a call on +971 4444 7111 and don’t forget to try that Laksa!
