Nutritious Beauty Tips by Rashi

Rashi Chowdhary is a firm believer of the age-old adage that you are what you eat.

The gorgeous nutritionist introduced us to The Protein Bakeshop and gave tips on healthy eating the last time she was here. Now she’s back with advice on how to eat your way into a more beautiful version of ‘you’.

Good nutrition reflects on overall beauty. What five super-foods would you recommend for great hair, skin and nails?

My top 5 would be:

  1. Chia and flaxseed powder sprinkled on some berries
  2. Avocados in any form as a quick snack
  3. Activated charcoal in water with a squeeze of lemon
  4. 1 Tbsp of coconut oil every morning as a wake up meal
  5. Gojji berries with walnuts as a quick pick me up in the afternoons

General Tips:

For great skin: Fat, fat and more healthy fat. That’s what the outer layer of every cell of your body is made up of. That’s the only way you’ll have healthy looking skin. So throw in the avocados, cook in virgin coconut oil, snack on raw almonds and macadamia nuts.

For healthy hair: B12 and Zinc should be your best friends! So a lot of Quinoa, sweet potatoes, berries and fish.

For more energy: Hydrate! Water is the most underestimated nutrient. Have anywhere between 3-4 liters and chances are you’ll be on the roll all day! And of course, exercise as much as you can! WORKOUT! Even 30 minutes can change the way you think and feel every day.

For de-bloating: Liver cleanse green juice: cucumber + kale+ mint leaves + celery + ginger + 200 ml chilled water. Strain it really well to remove all the fibre. Add 1 full lemon and gulp it down every morning as a start up meal, ideally as soon as you wake up. Requires effort but 2 straight weeks and works beautifully.

To shake off stubborn fat: It’s not the fat that’s stubborn! Our bad habits of poor eating, stressing out too much, sleeping less, not working out are all stubborn. The minute you open up to changing all of this, you’ll never complain of stubborn fat.
