Eid is just around the corner. Have you got your festive gear sorted?
This Eid, I’m planning on fashion twinning with my little one.
I first discovered Fayon Kids at Numaish Exhibitions. Based in India’s capital city of Delhi which is renowned for its old-world handicrafts and exquisite fabrics, the brand was created by doting mother Preeti Jatia.

There is nothing like traditional Indian hand-worked embroidery. Every region of this vast country boasts of their own style of handiwork and hand looms, and the North Western state of Rajasthan arguably takes the lead when it comes to the brightest hues of color and color clashes. The art of tie-dye that was an integral part of the hippie movement of the roaring sixties was born here.
Rajasthan is also home to Gota Patti. What is Gota Patti you ask? It is an ornate version of applique embroidery where intricately cut pieces of gold or silver ribbon are placed into a pattern and sewn onto either georgette or silk.

Jute bags have always been prized for their rugged sturdiness, and over the years have even managed to become a fashion statement. But who would have thought this humble fabric would weave its way into wearable fashion?

One day to go for the Numaish Festive Fair! Can’t wait to splurge on the latest in Indian fashion this Friday and Saturday. It’s happening at the Godolphin Ballroom, Emirates Towers from 11 am to 8 pm.
One of my favorite sari designers, Anavila will be showcasing her latest Autumn/Winter 2018 collection at Numaish this weekend.

The Numaish Festive Fair is taking place from Fri 28 – Sat 29 Sept at the Godolphin Ballroom in Jumeirah Emirates Towers.
As always, Numaish has curated an enticing lineup of the latest in Indian designer wear, and one of my favorite labels showcasing this month is Anavila.
‘Anavila’ translates to ‘pure’ in the ancient Indian tongue of Sanskrit, and is also the name of the founder of this beautiful fashion label.

Numaish, by far my favorite fashion exhibition in Dubai, never fails to impress the shopaholic in me looking for quirky Indo-Western finds that are anything but run of the mill. Numaish carefully curates India’s best upcoming fashion talents under one easy shopping roof, and this month you really need to save up to splurge at their AM:PM Fashion Trunk Show!
AM:PM is the brainchild of fashion design couple Ankur and Priyanka Modi (such a clever take on their names, don’t you think?). Their unique take on Indian fashion has won them a number of accolades over the years including the Elle Style Awards for two consecutive years (2011 and 12), and the title of ‘Most Popular Designer’ at the prestigious India Fashion Forum in 2016.

Rajasthan, the North-Western state of India, has a centuries-old repute for its traditional forms of art revolving around fashion. They gave the world the colorful, much-loved tie-dye (which became symbolic with the hippie movement of the roaring ‘free love’ sixties). Lesser known to the world is Rajasthan’s exquisitely prized form on Danka embroidery.
