We spent a very restful, pampered weekend away at Marriott Al Jaddaf (Dubai) and during our stay we visited Scots American Grill for dinner. This fine-dining steakhouse is located on the first floor of the hotel, offers a unique menu that is a fusion of Scottish fine foods with a new-age American flair. They have an entire lineup of steaks as well as enticing seafoods, and the very helpful staff are more than happy to assist with your choices.

The restaurant interiors are suave and sophisticated with dim mood lighting that gets you all cozy enough to sit there fore longer and really relish that slow-cooked, seamlessly put together meal.

A complimentary serving of freshly baked bread is served as you skim through the menu, and it comes with freshly made liver pate and smoked butter. The enticing smell of baked bread is sure to get your appetite revved up.

For starters, I was recommended the Scots American Lobster & Shrimp Cocktail. It’s a sophisticated slaw with plump, juicy bites of lobster and shrimp, and generous shavings of black truffle. The salad is refreshingly cold yet satiating filling to boot.

The star dish of the night was the Wagyu Tenderloin, 300 grams of Prime Australian Wagyu Tenderloin cooked a perfect medium-rare with a side of green peppercorn sauce. I had it with a serving of sweet potato wedges. Highly recommend this combination!

Ending on a sweet classy note, we tried the Signature New York Style Cheese Cake. As it is a ‘classic’ the clever folks at Scots American Grill present this classic slice with classic clockwork on the side. As you pull your spoon out of the clockwork, the wheels start a-turning and let loose a stream of tangy-sweet strawberry sauce. What a clever concept!

Despite being all-out fine-dining, Scots American Grill has the family in mind as well and offer a dedicated menu for kids. My little one was very happy with her large bowl of chicken nuggets and hand-cut fries and enjoyed making a mess with her Marshmallow Dipping dessert.

Overall, I loved our experience at Scotts American Grill. The ambiance is stunning for a quiet date night, and the menu is a dream come true for an avid steak lover.
