Last Saturday, I was invited to try out the Infinity Brunch at The Address, Dubai Marina. Always on the run and all over the place, I graciously accepted without really doing a background check. I assumed that as it’s at The Address Marina, I could go all out ladylike in my new Vero Moda lacy black number, and top it off with shit-loads of bronzer.
And there I was, high-heeled and astute, till we got ushered into Shades, the restaurant where the Infinity Brunch takes place every Saturday from 2 pm onwards. Shades is a poolside restaurant. The place was flooded with sun worshipers in scantily-clad swimwear, and there I was all dressed up and made up.

Someone once told me you can never be overdressed for Dubai, so for once, I can safely say I was one of the most dressed up people at that brunch!
The ambiance here is so chilled out, and located on the 44th floor, the views are absolutely stunning. Add to it the blue hues of the infinity pool and the beautifully tanned, toned people around it and this place gives you some serious ‘I need to book a holiday’ vibes.
The Infinity brunch is a set menu, and as the name suggests, the items are served as infinitely as your stomach can master (this is my foodie logic. I’m sure the name actually refers to the infinity pool!).
What I like best about the brunch here is that it is served fresh, piping hot right on the table. No long-winded queues and food wastage here.
The starters round includes a sushi platter, a round of cold Arabic Mezze, followed by hot appetizers including steamy, crisp Asian-style Spring Rolls and crunchy golden-brown prawn.
For the mains, you can go for one dish, or a combination of a few. My generous plateful features moreishly good lamb chops, a salmon steak cooked a perfect medium-rare, and a serving of Bengal Tiger Prawns.
You also have quite a few options for the side-dishes. I went for creamy mashed potato and sauteed vegetables.
The brunch costs AED 288, inclusive of the set menu and soft beverages, and you can upgrade to the alcoholic package for AED 417. I went for the second option, and absolutely loved the Margaritas here. Another drink to consider here is their bubbly Prosecco wine which is beautifully light and fruity, and goes down well with every course.
The desserts round included a lineup of Chef special cakes, but I found most of these a tad too dry for my liking and enjoyed the pot of Mango Trifle at the end. Then came the sorbets. I loved my tangy-sweet Raspberry, and the Hubster had a very tropically scented Mango variation. We ended with a refreshing platter of fruit, and hot steamy cups of cappuccino.
The Infinity Brunch goes on from 2 pm to 5 pm, and is the perfect spot for casual dining and drinking with friends. Children are not allowed here, so that could be an added plus for many craving some adult time alone.
And why not extend the brunch with a lounging session by the pool, complete with puffs of shisha? Weekends don’t get more blissful than this… and remember, its casual wear here!
The Infinity Brunch takes place every Friday and Saturday at Shades (The Address Dubai Marina), and runs from 2 pm to 5 pm. The brunch package starts from AED 288 per person inclusive of food and soft beverages, and the alcoholic package is priced at AED 417.
