Beauty Review: The Shiseido White Lucent Anti-Dark Circles Eye Cream

The delicate skin around our eyes give out the very first tell-tale signs of aging. I therefore believe investing in a good under-eye cream is essential once we hit out late 20’s. I was recently sent a very attractive little pot of the Shiseido White Lucent Anti-Dark Circles Eye Cream, and have been putting it to the test for the last month or so.

The Shiseido White Lucent Anti-Dark Circles Eye Cream promises to enhance radiance and brightness around the eyes.

  • Shiseido-exclusive Dark Circle Diminisher defies dark circles three ways by helping to target their root cause, preventing their formation, and addressing microcirculation in the eye area to infuse freshness and radiance into skin.

Key Ingredients:

  • Humectant-rich Super Hydro-Synergy Complex N: to instantly hydrate the skin and maintain moisture for hours.

Tezzy’s Experience with the Shiseido White Lucent Anti-Dark Circles Eye Cream

They say dark circles can be hereditary, but a lack of sleep, poor nutrition and general stress are all major contributors. To top it off, the skin around our eyes is the most delicate of all, and therefore most prone to wrinkles and the very first tell-tale signs of aging.

In my case, I blame my panda eyes on a lack of sleep. I get a maximum of 6 hours a night every weekday if I’m lucky. Balancing a challenging full-time career, motherhood and keeping up with blog posts can take a toll.

I was therefore elated to receive this wee pot. I am a huge fan of Shiseido products, this Japanese skincare brand has always been on top of the game when it comes to innovation and I was pretty positive the Shiseido White Lucent Anti-Dark Circles Eye Cream would work for me.

As per instructions, I have been religiously applying this cream under my eyes as well as my lids every morning and night as the last step of my skincare regimen. For under-eye applications, always use your ring finger as it gives the least amount of pressure. You really need to be gentle with the skin around you eyes.

I have super sensitive eyes and am also a contact lens wearer. It is therefore good to know that the Shiseido White Lucent Anti-Dark Circles Eye Cream has been dermatologist and ophthamologist tested and does not have any ingredients that can irritate the eyes.

I have been using the Shiseido White Lucent Anti-Dark Circles Eye Cream for over a month now, and really love it. First off, I rarely use under-eye creams in the morning as most tend to be too rich and greasy and only go to highlight my puffy under-eye bags. However, this formulation absorbs into the skin very quickly and even allows for easy makeup application.

The formulation is also very, very moisturizing and therefore works well to diminish fine lines over the first few weeks itself. Despite my lack of sleep, this clever little pot of cream gives my eyes a rested, youthful appearance and this is why I’ve listed the Shiseido White Lucent Anti-Dark Circles Eye Cream as a must-have for the ‘not a morning person’ folks (read my last post on that subject by clicking here).

However, the main claim of the Shiseido White Lucent Anti-Dark Circles Eye Cream is to combat dark circles. The formulation works well at making the eyes look more awake and refreshed, but the shadows under my eyes have not budged much at all.

To be fair to Shiseido, there are many causes behind dark circles including broken veins, health concerns and bruising. What this cream can do is disguise the damage by smoothing out tired skin and giving it hydration. Given the price tag, this product may be a little too pricey if you need serious help with panda eyes.

To summarize, the Shiseido White Lucent Anti-Dark Circles Eye Cream works well as a deeply moisturizing eye cream, and I love the fact that it can even be used during the day as it absorbs into the skin so beautifully well. I also like the fact that a little goes a long way, and this wee pot will easily last me a good 6 months or so. However, given the price tag, this cream may not be worth the investment if you are looking for a quick fix for dark circles.

Why Tezzy Loves the Shiseido White Lucent Anti-Dark Circles Eye Cream

  • This is a highly moisturizing formula, and really delivers on moisturizing the fragile skin around the eyes.
  • Despite being very moisturizing, this cream absorbs into the skin beautifully well, and does not hinder eye makeup applications.
  • Although the pot is only 15 ml, it really lasts for ages given you only need a wee bit of product per application.

The Negatives

  • This 15 ml pot retails for a whooping AED 279! We are talking premium pricing here.
  • If you have super serious dark circles, don’t expect miracles.
  • I personally prefer products that come in a tube. Products in a pot require you to scoop in with fingers, not an ideal scenario in terms of hygiene.
