We are slowly but surely heading into alfresco dining weather, and what better way to spend an idle Friday afternoon than brunching in a garden setting, complete with views of the sea?
I had the pleasure of being invited for the First Year Anniversary of Kempinski Ajman’s Friday Garden Brunch last week, and had a lovely time mingling with like-minded foodies and sampling the elaborate spread, complete with stunning outdoor views and entertainment for little ones.
Kempinski Ajman is one of the oldest hotels in the Emirate, with stunning sea views and an access to a private beach. The hotel itself is spaciously inviting and has this old-world charm that seems to be lacking in many of the fancy new establishments of Dubai. A drive down to Ajman on a Friday afternoon is pleasurable in itself. The traffic is at its lowest, and you can even do pit-stops by the beach for selfies with the family 🙂
The lush lawns of Kempinski Ajman were dotted with a wide range of intercontinental food stations. They have an Arabic stand, complete with shawarma on the grill, an Asian ‘food truck’ where hot noodles are tossed up the way you like it, and Italian stand serving up a range of deliciously topped bruschetta, an Indian stand serving a lineup of tantalizing curries, but the most popular spot was the barbeque section where you can choose from a wide range of meats and seafood, and have them grilled just the way you like it.
Being a warm afternoon, the drinks counter also had large queues. They talented mixologists can whip up all kinds of cocktails and mocktails, but my absolute favorite was their lime-infused margaritas. Sour yet salty with just the right amount of kick, the margarita had me in party mode in no time!

Best of all, they have great entertainment for little ones, so my 5 year-old was kept well occupied while we brunched. She let out all her energy on the bouncy castle, made quite a few little friends, and even got her face painted by the friendly little clown lady.
But wait… they had even more food inside! Kempinski Ajman’s Kranzler Cafe does some amazing desserts, and given this is an ‘all you can eat’ buffet, they really go all out with their creativity and have some very artsy treats that were especially popular with the little ones.
They had a kid-friendly dessert section that was dedicated to the love for Minions!
I discovered this little salad counter inside Kranzler Cafe, and the chef there created a beautiful smoked salmon salad for me, right on the spot.
With stunning outdoor views, an elaborate spread inclusive of a wide mix of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and live entertainment for the entire family, you would think this Friday Garden Brunch would cost a fortune. However, the pricing at Kempinski Ajman has always been very competitively low as compared to Dubai:
- Brunch only ( sans any beverages): AED 185
- Beach and brunch (ans any beverages): AED 250
- Brunch with selected beverages, spirits and beach access: AED 290
The Friday Garden Brunch is a wonderful way to spend an idle Friday afternoon, and runs from 1 pm to 4 pm every Friday. For reservations, give them a call on +971 6 714 5555 or drop them an email at culinary.ajman@kempinski.com.
