Here is what he has to say about his stall at Numaish, his journey into fashion, and key trends we need to look out for…

When did you first realize that you wanted to get into design?

I was always sincere towards the things, which I had interest in and this is the reason which got me into design. I realized at an early age, that the only way I could perform at something was completely dependant on my passion towards it.

When I think about it now, I feel that, I always knew it.  But it was in high school when it actually hit me. In a country obsessed with doctors and engineers, any individual looking the other way, is considered academically weak, so I took Science as my focused elective in high school. Despite that I could not deny my calling, Design and joined the National Institute of fashion technology, New Delhi, which has been a premier fashion institute in India since the advent of fashion.

Tell us more about the latest collection that you are showcasing at Numaish.

Collection I am brining to Numaish is our Winter/Festive Collection titled ‘DOT’.

DOT: The presentation “Dot” by Yogesh Chaudhary looks into galaxies far far away this season. The range is a physical manifestation of alternate cosmic reality. With manned missions reaching further in space, Surendri embarks on a journey in search of a futuristic tribe in another dimension.

Constellations, moon surfaces, thermal radiation patterns, and scared geometry define the motif direction for the season. The idea of a futuristic generation of humanoids with their own set of traditions being explored in indigenous textures; define the cross-cultural silhouettes and their surface styling.

Deconstructed Grecian drapes, and mechanized Indian shapes lead the voyage into the unknown. The collection continues to expand on the Surendri philosophy of head to toe styling services as the label launches a unique line of fashion and lifestyle accessories.
