Majlis Al Safinah (The Iftar Buffet at Jumeirah Beach Hotel)

I was invited to the Iftar preview at Jumeirah Beach Hotel last week. The Al Safinah Ballroom gets an Arabesque makeover for the holy month, and by far this ‘majlis’ has to be one of the most photogenic venues I have seen so far this Ramadan.

Enhanced with the opulence of golden Arabesque arches, Majlis Al Safinah features very inviting ‘majlis’ style seating areas that make for perfect private gatherings for groups of up to 20 guests.

The buffet spread is an elaborate affair that spans across an entire area of its own, and also takes up the terrace end for hot mezze and grills.Diners are spoilt for choice with a wide variety of Arabic, Indian and intercontinental dishes.

The Iftar also includes an endless supply of soft drinks to quench the thirst. Apart from Jalab, a traditional Ramadan essential, they have interesting mocktails like the Cherry Apple and even serve fresh coconut water right out of the shell!

When it came to the dessert section, I was like a child in a candy shop! Each and every dessert is enticingly presented, and seem to be screaming out ‘eat me’ loud and clear!

Some of my favorites from the night included the following:
