Iftar at Denny’s

Fancy some good old American-style grub for Iftar tonight? With Ramadan comes a whole new list of Iftar offerings which tend to be mainly Arabesque. If you are a tad bit tired of the Lamb Ouzis and mixed grills, head to Denny’s, your friendly American all-day diner that is open 24 hours a day.

I’ve done a post on Denny’s before (click here if you’ve missed it). Their portion sizes are generously enormous, and I have a particular weakness for their Slow Cooked Pot Roast.

Slow-Cooked Pot Roast: A very moreish meal ideal for a cold winter’s night, this dish features ‘falling off the bone’ tender lamb served on a bed of silky smooth potato mash and very buttery garlic bread. It is topped with caramelized onions and a deep, robust mushroom gravy.

My lovely blogger friend Shanaz from The Shaz World introduced us to Denny’s Ramadan offering. Unlike many other establishments, diners still have access to their favorite dishes on the Denny’s menu but at Iftar time, you get the following absolutely free of charge with your regular meal:

  • Creamy Chicken & Mushroom Soup,
  • Caesar Salad,
  • Dates,
  • Jallab

The four new Ramadan additions come absolutely FREE with your regular Denny’s meal! Pretty good value if you ask me 🙂

Absolutely loved the Jallab here. This traditional Arabic Iftar drink made of grape molasses, dates and rose water is a refreshingly sweet thirst quencher, and I must have had at least three glassfuls in one sitting.

When you’re craving an All-American Iftar treat, you know you can always head to Denny’s. They are open 24/7 and their generously large, American-style menu is available all through Ramadan.

And don’t forget to end on a sweet note! I highly recommend their Banana Split 🙂
