Turns out the Kardashians cannot take all the credit for the contouring epidemic that has hit the beauty industry. It’s been an insider know-how all along, and Hollywood diva Marilyn Monroe used this technique to accentuate her sultry lips. No scary lip injections needed, just a clever play with colours to give the illusion of fuller, sexier, more defined lips.

I decided to try out lipstick contouring for myself. Here is how I did it:

My latest vice is a serious addiction to makeup tutorials on YouTube. Educational and entertaining I’d say! And as a beauty blogger, it has introduced me to a whole new world of beauty brands and techniques.

One of my favorite makeup YouTubers has to be Jaclyn Hill, and when she collaborated with Becca to create this gorgeous trio palette of shimmer shades, I had to have it!

One more sleep to 2016! How are you celebrating?

Given the number of exceptionally good desserts I’ve had the pleasure of forking in to in the last few months, 2015 has been a pretty ‘sweet’ year.

Here is a list of my top 10 favorite desserts from 2015:

Many a weekend, we find ourselves aimlessly driving around Dubai rediscovering favorite nooks and crannies, and often ending up eating an elaborate meal at a brand new joint.

My husband and I have a special ritual for ending these star-studded, feast-filled nights. Being avid tea drinkers, we look up late-night tea stalls. These are the tiny little shops lining major highways, or tucked inside residential pockets. The tea is ever flowing, often spiced up with cardamom, and costs a mere 1 dirham per cup. It’s the perfect, soul-warming sip for ending a gastronomic outing.

During the Christmas weekend, we found ourselves lost in the urban jungle of Karama and the kitsch twinkling of multi-coloured tealights at a roadside vendor caught our attention.

We are marching towards the end of the year. Where did 2015 go? Like every passing year, we hit our personal milestones.

As a beauty blogger, this year has introduced me to a plethora of beauty products, many of which have become a ‘can’t live without’ staple.

Today’s post is a compilation of my top 10 beauty products, all of which I only got introduced to in 2015. Read on, and perhaps you can suggest something new to me for 2016!

As you can see from my recent posts, December has been a very indulgent month. The foodie in me is taking center stage, and its starting to show around the midriff big time!

The colour black really does hide a multitude of sins, and an LBD (‘Little Black Dress’) in my opinion, is a closet essential every girl should own.

I found this gem of a dress at Anotah, the rather quirky, outlandish fashion label hailing from Kuwait. Their collections are far from mainstream, and they never shy away from the use of unusual colour combinations. My kind of place I tell you!

This however, one is a plain, plain black.

After the pre-launch press lunch at Vida Downtown I was fortunate enough to be invited to last week (read all about it here), I was super excited about attending the BBC Food Food Show’s very first stint in the World Trade Center this weekend.

It was a 3-day affair running from 17th to 19th December, and this was a hall full of delights for serious UAE foodies (shopping, tasting and inspirations from world renowned chefs!).

I fondly remember my days as a university student. Blessed with the quirkiest of friends, some of the best times we’ve had together was in the kitchen where we cooked up weird and wonderful creations. My bestie made the meanest, richest cauliflower curry and the secret behind its success was a generous helping of cheddar cheese (yup! Indian spices with cheese!). It took a fairly broadminded palette to digest, and in the here and now, he has nothing to do with the food industry.

The story reads quite differently for Dubai-born Rahul Sajnani. When Rahul left home for the UK to do a management degree, he found his passion for fusion cooking when living with a bunch of culturally diverse flatmates. In the UK, Rahul also developed a taste for sushi and momos, and improved on his chopstick skills. He was therefore quite astonished to find that the humble, student-budget-friendly momo-sushi combo he was having in the UK was more of an upmarket, wallet cringing treat in the UAE.

With a new-found love for fusion cooking and an insatiable desire to reintroduce momos and sushi to the UAE, Rahul created Moshi.

One of the most scenic places to lunch in the Emirate of Sharjah has to be at the strip of restaurants along the Al Majaz Waterfront.

Elevation Burger is the newest addition to the Al Majaz neighbourhood of eateries, and we lunched there this week courtesy Zomato.

The restaurant is clean, spacious and airy, and the floor-to-ceiling glass paneling across the space takes full advantage of the breathtaking splendor of the Al Majaz waterfront view.
