Over the last year or so, Indian molecular gastronomy has taken the Dubai dining scene by storm. It was initially reserved for exuberantly priced fine-dining restaurants like Tresind, and soon seeped into the high-end cafe and bar scenes with the introduction of Farzi Cafe and Carnival by Tresind. Going a few steps further down the affordability scale, we can now rejoice with the opening of Mumbai’s very popular vegetarian joint, SpiceKlub.

Just a month into its opening, and it is already a challenge getting a table booking at this brand new joint. Located in the hub of busy, traffic-congested Mankool where parking can be a nightmare, we booked ourselves a table at SpiceKlub midweek for dinner. Despite not having a valet service, the place was absolutely packed… and this was a Tuesday evening!

My Hubby does not prefer Indian when dining out, and least of all a vegetarian joint. To make matters worse, it took us a good 20 minutes to find a parking spot, so by the time we settled into our table I was praying the food would be to his liking. Miracle of miracles, he walked out very content raving about the dishes and the immaculate service!

I am an all-out lipstick junkie, and can be pretty experimental with my choices. To me, a bright pout screams confidence, and I am as comfortable sporting a nude as I am a perky purple, and even a goth-inspired black.

However, even if you shy away from color, chances are you own a red lipstick (or two… or ten!). One of my favorite brands for lipsticks is MAC Cosmetics, especially their matte range. Their color range is wide and varied, and many of their shades have become iconic the world over. For reds, the MAC Ruby Woo and Russian Red are shades that are (literally) on every girl’s lips, but one that is not as talked of is the MAC Chili.

Health freaks have been drinking gallons of green tea for a while now, but have you heard of green coffee? Green coffee has become quite the buzzword in the world of weight-loss campaigns, yet this gimmick-like stance has a whole lot of scientific backing to go with it… as well as an impressive list of health-enhancing benefits.

I have been sipping on cups of Qafe Green Coffee, an instant green coffee scientifically developed by QNET, a health and wellness conglomerate based in Hong Kong. Read on to learn more about green coffee, and perhaps you would like to give it a go for yourself.

How blessed are we with the current weather! As a family, we are making the most of it by spending as much time outdoors as possible. Last Friday I received an invite to try out Inn the Park, a brand new dining concept located right inside Al Khazzan Park. The idea of combining a tasting session with a day out in the sunshine sounded highly appealing, and what’s even better was the fact that we didn’t have to pack up a picnic hamper either!

Al Khazzan is a very small park by Dubai standards, but is pretty easy to locate given it is bang opposite CityWalk.  Inn the Park is just a mere 2 weeks old, and the restaurant doesn’t even have a signage up as yet.

Tucked away in a quiet corner of Jumeirah Beach Road is Beach Park Plaza, perhaps the least frequented of malls on this strip. A chance tasting invitation saw us there last week, and I now come to you with the perfect excuse to visit Beach Park Plaza for yourself: Chop Suey!

Named after the ever-popular American Chinese stir-fried noodle dish, Chop Suey is the brainchild of husband and wife duo Bassam and Diana. The restaurant has been in operation for over 2 years, and has a regular steam of visitors from the vicinity, as well as a long list of frequent delivery orders that covers the Business Bay, Sheikh Zayed Road, Al Barsha, Media City and Meydan Heights areas.

I am always over the moon when I receive goodies from Shiseido, Japan’s best known premium beauty brand. Shiseido has earned a global reputation for their breakthrough, innovative skincare and makeup ranges, but very few talk about their fragrances.

I have never used a Shiseido scent before, and was rather intrigued when I received this pretty little 20 ml bottle of Shiseido Ever Bloom Eau De Parfum. The packaging, with its pale pinks and the very astutely structured bottle, is oh so feminine and classy. I was rather intimidated about actually putting it to use… it is a showpiece in itself!

How quickly has this year whizzed past?! I’m missing the festive Christmas feel already. The trees may be coming down soon, but I want to keep the festive vibes alive just a little longer. One of the elements I love about Christmas is the scent of cinnamon.

No, I am not binging on leftover mince pies, got the NY resolutions coming up! Instead, I’ve incorporated cinnamon into my daily breakfast shake thanks to the Dabur Real Activ Honey with Cinnamon.

How do you like your eggs? Scrambled, soft-boiled or sunny side up? This morning I had mine in the form of a sheet-mask, infused with skin firming collagen 🙂 This is the Egg Cream Mask by Korean brand ‘Too Cool for School’, yet another interesting addition to the skincare range at Sephora Middle East.
