We’ve all heard about Shea Butter. It’s one of those hyped up beauty ingredients that get highlighted on hydrating potions all the time. But what if you could get your hands on raw, natural shea butter all on its own sans any chemical mix-ups?

I got my hands on a jar of this lovely beauty product by Mother Nature from the African stall at Global Village last year, and have been looking for a local supplier ever since. Then I get sent this generously large glass jar from Shea Butter DXB and I am over the moon!

The Vintage Cosmetic Company: Everyday Beauty Essentials in Adorably Cute Packaging

I have a rather tragic tale to tell. I was sent this absolutely gorgeous bag full of beauty tools from The Vintage Cosmetic Company courtesy Boots Middle East, and got click-happy as soon as I got them out of the bag.

Spa Treatment at Home: Red Flower Lemon Coffee Blossom Olive Stone Scrub Review

I was introduced to this gorgeous brand by my massage therapist at Chi Spa, Shangri La. Red Flower is an organic natural beauty brand hailing from the United States. Using the finest of ingredients, Red Flower combines the wisdom of beauty rituals that have been passed down for generations across a multitude of cultures.

Chi Spa at Shangri La (Dubai) uses a number of Red Flower products for their various treatments, and also sells the brand in their retail space. The Lemon Coffee Blossom Olive Stone Scrub was one of the first Red Flower products I spotted on their shelves. One whiff, and I was sold!

At AED 290 for a 411 gram tub, this scrub does not come for cheap. But that scent, oh how I love it! Its a combination of deep, dark roasted coffee with a fresh spark of lemon.

Lime Crime Velvetines Review: Makeup for Unicorns

The other day I was cleaning out my makeup stash, and was amazed at how many lipsticks I owned in near-identical shades. The brands might be different, but overall I have concluded I am more of a berry-lipstick girl. My lipsticks tend to belong in the berry family of deep reds and hints of purple.

Chi Spa’s Hamper Pamper (at Shangri La, Dubai)

‘Chi’ in Chinese refers to the life force that drives energy through the body, and Shangri La’s chain of luxury spas go by the same name.

To wrap up a rather blissful 4-day weekend, I had a pampering session at Chi Spa to rejuvenate my senses for a brand new week of work. Chi Spa’s latest offering is the ‘Hamper Pamper’.

For AED 800, the Hamper Pamper is a full 2 hour retreat involving a Pumpkin Spice body peel and wrap, and a blissfully long Asian-blend massage.
