At first glance, it looks pretty ordinary. The triangular packaging has a hint of holography, and the colors look like very basic pale pastels.

 

But one quick swatch proves it to be anything but basic! The colors in this palette are crazy cool and totally live up to the Kat Von D aesthetic that we have all come to know and love.

 

Forget earthy golds and browns, these come in a pink, blue, green and purple! How crazy is that?! The colors are aptly named after precious rocks. My favorite has to be the Amethyst (a shimmering purple).

 

Are they a little too radical to use, you ask? Not at all. You can use them as a highlighter all over the face, be it as an eye-shadow, for strobing, or even on the lips.

If you are looking for a palette with an edge, one that will truly add drama to your look, the Kat Von D Alchemist Holographic Palette is for you.

I’m loving the color intensity of the Kat Von D Everlasting Lip Liners and had a play with the very deep purple shade Roxy. 

 

It looks great on its own, but for a really bold lip, a touch of the Amethyst really makes it pop!

 

I am also wearing the Alchemist Holographic Palette’s Opal (pink) shade as a highlighter over my bronzer here. The subtle hint of pink is so deliciously feminine; a contrast to the bold, unusually shimmery lips.
