Cateye Glasses

I have always been a fan of vintage glamor; the bright pouts, the polka dots, the beehive hair and especially the cat-eye frames. There is something bold and sexy about a woman who can carry off a cat-eye frame. It exudes a quirky edge, and can add a dramatic twist to any outfit.

Here is vintage fashion icon Marilyn Monroe. Her frames look effortlessly chic on her.

And here’s Katy Perry rocking her cat-eye glasses. Love the subtle bling on her frame. So glad its making a comeback on the fashion scene.

I have been hunting for cat-eye frames for a while now, and was super excited when I came across http://www.bonlook.com  They have a whole section of cat-eye frames, and a whole list of bloggers were raving abut these!

At USD $99 per frame (inclusive of the lenses), it was a steal compared to my current Gucci frames. I decided to buy 2.

I narrowed down on the Dolled Up and Marquis frames.

I was a bit skeptical on buying frames online as I like to try it on. Bon Look has a virtual mirror that allows for this. I also browsed the bloggers who had bought these frames and narrowed down to people with similar face structures to my own.

Overall I was thrilled with my purchase. These are seriously funky frames, and I get asked about these all the time.

The frames are of high-quality plastic, and pretty durable considering I have been wearing them for the past 5 months and have a hyper toddler in tow. They do tend to pinch my nose a bit after a long day, but I could have looked at getting a larger size.

I got the Marquis in black, and the Dolled Up in Diamond. I keep interchanging between the two depending on my wardrobe choices for the day.

Not sure which one I like better, they are both so… me!

I think the Diamond Dolled Up looks more unique with its clear frame.
