When asked what my favorite kind of cuisine is, Thai always tops the list. I love the delicate medley of exotic spices and the fiery heat of Thai chilies. Even at home, we eat predominantly Thai inspired dishes.

So imagine my excitement when I got invited to yet another Thai gem last week! Inaugurated earlier this year, Cafe Isan is tucked away in a quiet corner of JLT (Lakefront Icon 1 Building, Cluster M) right next to Chawlas 2. We have quite a few restaurants in the UAE that specialize in Thai cuisine, but what sets this newbie apart is that their recipes originate from the Isan region of Thailand.

I usually don’t do re-posts of press releases I receive, but this one by Chris Lambert of Q Comms was far too hilarious to store away in my inbox! Located in Marina Byblos Hotel in Dubai Marina, Societe Dubai is the city’s retro hotspot offering an interesting array of drinks, a spunky retro interior and a playlist of the coolest tunes from the ’80’s, ’90’s and 00 all night long.

Interestingly, the club has accumulated a whole stash of very interesting items that have been left behind by their alcohol-induced patrons. This definitely is a very insightful list!

Numaish, the curator of couture Indian fashion, is set to showcase yet another spectacular fair on 23rd and 24th September in Hotel Conrad, Dubai. If you are looking for unique fashion-forward Indian designer pieces, be in traditional or out of the box Indo-Western, this is a fair you cannot afford to miss.

The Numaish Festive Fair is showcasing a long list of prominent and upcoming Indian fashion designers, and one to watch out for on the list is House of Sohn. I had a wee chat with Sohni Patel, the very young and talented designer behind the very Indo-Western label. Read on about her journey into the fashion trade, what she will be showcasing at Numaish, and her top tips for keeping on-trend.

I had the pleasure of being invited to a very exclusive store launch late last month. Stile by Ghulam Ali is a besotted Indian fashion design label created by the very debonair, dashing brother duo Ghulam and Ali. Following the legacy of their father who owned a tailoring store by the name of ‘Stile’, the brothers developed a sense for fashion at a very tender age.

Their store in Cosmos Lane, Meena Bazar (Bur Dubai) is their very first venture out of India. The store launch was planned with great pomp and festivity. The entire cast of Bollywood’s latest flick, ‘Freaky Ali’ were also invited!

Fridays are brunch days. After a grueling week of work, its that day of the week when the entire household rises just before noon. By this hour, its too late for breakfast yet a little too early for lunch. Either do brunch at home (which usually consists of greasy plates of hash browns, runny eggs, sausage and a copious amount of red beans), or we head out for our cusp of a meal someplace new.

Brunching has made a permanent mark in the dining-out fabric of Dubai, and last weekend we were fortunate enough to be invited for ‘The Art of Brunch’ at none other than Movenpick Hotel, Bur Dubai. This establishment is one of Dubai’s oldest 5-star properties, and its old-world charm and very central location still attracts a varied mix of tourists all year round.

Yet the majority of the guests at The Art of Brunch were local residents like us. We all like a chilled out Friday, and when we got there, the place was absolutely packed!

The Numaish Festive Fair is scheduled to take place in the weekend of 23rd and 24th September in Conrad Hotel, Dubai and is open to the public inclusive of free valet service. Highly reputed for their ability at curating India’s most fashion-forward designers and making their masterpieces easily available to the Dubai market, the Numaish exhibitions are a must visit every season.

One of the young and upcoming fashion labels to be showcasing at Numaish this month is ‘I am Design by Pratik & Priyanka’. Lucky you! As a devout reader of The Tezzy Files, you have the chance to win a besotted silk dress by this fashionable duo.

Numaish Exhibitions is back once again with a brand new lineup of exquisite new-season trends from India’s the hottest upcoming designers. The Numaish Festive Fair is going to take place in the weekend of 23rd and 24th September in Conrad Hotel, Dubai and is open to the public inclusive of free valet service.

I have been associated with the Numaish fair for 3 seasons now, and being a huge fan of boho and Indo-Western silhouettes, I always look forward to visiting the stalls. At Numaish, you are sure to find something extraordinarily different.

One of the designers who has been a regular at Numaish ever since I got associated with it is Suchita Pandey. Hailing from Jaipur, arguably the cultural capital of Indian textiles, Suchita turned her love for fashion into a very successful career with the launch of her label Suchita’s Stylista.

What have you been up to this long Eid weekend? We decided to hibernate on Day 1, dreading the holiday rush across the city. Surely every road, every mall and every restaurant must be overflowing with people now that everybody is back from the summer break?

Well I have great news for you! I’ve recently discovered the (not so secret) secret hang-out for foodies who, like me, detest the crowds. Ironically just a few parallel roads down from buzzing Dubai Mall itself, Bay Square is a hidden gem housing some of Dubai’s most affordable restaurants under one spacious complex itself.

I was in Bay Square about a week ago, devouring really good Thai food at Fuchsia, and just a week later I was back yet again, this time for some amazingly affordable Indian at 25 Degrees North.

Despite retailing a plethora of world-renowned brands under its umbrella, Sephora manages to churn out fabulous products under its own label. One such product is the Sephora Instant Moisture+ Cream Hyaluronic Acid Booster.

I picked this cream from my beauty stash for my travel to India this summer, primarily because it was the only tub of face cream in my possession that came in sturdy unbreakable plastic.

This is hilarious! A dear friend of mine just pointed out to me that I got featured in none other than The Huffington Post itself! Psyched! Yet I wasn’t expecting my #HuffingtonPostMomentOfFame to look quite like this!

Sorry for so many exclamations in one paragraph… its the long weekend, it’s 4 am and I’m high on jittery excitement!
