I’ve had Gelish manicures off and on, and love the convenience of not having to worry about nail paint for a beautifully glossy 2 weeks. Gelish nails are therefore ideal for holidays, and when you have long, endless weeks of social events lined up.

The Lancôme Miracle Cushion Liquid Cushion Compact Foundation is quite a novel concept. This is a liquid foundation that comes in a ‘cushion’ sponge, making it easy to carry on the go, and super easy to apply.
Apart from the cushion technology that offers just the right amount of product per use, the product itself is guaranteed to give a dewy, glowing complexion in seconds and is said to be lightweight, hydrating and brightening.
This is yet another product I got introduced to at the Aquarius Beauty Heroes event as a Reader Judge, and after an initial trial, I had to buy one for myself!
First day of the 4-day Eid weekend saw us window-shopping in Dragon Mall, and I decided to dress up my casual denims with the funky Auto Rickshaw shirt from Quirkbox. I bought this gorgeous shirt from Orange Boxy (yup! the same super-awesome online retailer who sells the uber cool Habibi coffee mug!).
Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse is a multi-purpose dry oil that can be used all over the body, inclusive of the face, body and hair. This multitasking beauty oil hails from France, and has a cult following from all over the globe. Apparently 1 bottle of Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse is sold every 5 seconds somewhere in the world!
I had the privilege of being a Reader Judge for Aquarius magazine’s annual Aquarius Beauty Heroes edition featuring top beauty products for 2015. Do look out for me in the October issue of Aquarius! As a Reader Judge, we went through a mountain of beauty goodies, and this is where I got my first whiff of Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse.
When I saw this cotton midi-length summer dress at GAP, I knew I had to have it. It is lightweight and perfect for hot UAE summers, and I love the versatility of a simple silhouette.
I’ve worn this dress on shopping errands, to the beach, on a girl’s day out (see me wearing it in a previous post here), and even jazzed it up to be office-worthy under a contrasting well-fitting blazer.
Last weekend, we dined at Pharaoh’s, the new Egyptian themed restaurant at Arabian Courtyard Hotel & Spa. My trustworthy GAP dress did not fail me, and I dressed it up with a Zara statement necklace and the Steve Madden Hercules Sandals.
Last Friday saw us craving for some good, authentic Arabic grub and the first place that came to mind was Pharaoh Cafe & Restaurant, the newest addition to the restaurant offerings at Arabian Courtyard & Spa, Dubai.
We were invited to the launch of the restaurant, and were totally in awe of the stunning Egyptian-themed ambiance overlooking the Dubai Museum. If you missed my earlier post, please do have a browse of how gorgeous this restaurant looks by clicking here.
‘When’ face masks are the latest sheet-masks to hit the UAE beauty scene.
The Koreans are pioneers of the sheet-mask concept, and it is of little wonder that the ‘When’ brand also hails from Korea.
I tried the ‘When Makeup Base’ mask this weekend, just before a special date night with hubby, and loved what it did for my complexion.
When my daughter was starting ‘big’ school this month (post nursery days), I was dreading the even earlier wake-up times. The household now rises by 6 am sharp, and she is out of the house with her father within 45 frantic minutes.
However, there is a silver lining to this new schedule. I don’t leave for work till 8.45 am, and I get a delicious slice of ‘me time’; a whole two hours to myself in a quiet, empty apartment.
I was invited to the annual Lafayette Gourmet Food Fest 2015 that was held last Thursday, and the event was populated with the media, UAE food bloggers, and food enthusiasts.
The 3-day fest is on its fourth year running, and is being held at Galeries Lafayette, The Dubai Mall. It runs from Thursday 17th September to Saturday 19th September, and is loaded with exciting tastings, foodie workshops, and entertainment for the entire family.
The event was hosted by local and internationally renowned chefs, and I had the pleasure of tasting some gourmet dishes from around the globe. This post is a photographic tour of my experience.

Little Manila is a ‘first of its kind’ Filipino themed restaurant in Dubai, and is the global conglomerate, Al Ahli Group’s first venture into the food industry.
The restaurant has officially started business from this Monday 14th September, and I had the pleasure of being invited to the media event on Saturday.
