Last Friday, we tried out the award-winning London Social brunch at Caravan restaurant, located on the ground floor of glitzy Ritz Carlton at JBR Dubai.
The brunch highlights the diversity of cultures in the gastronomy scene of London and includes the British-style creamy-sweet Butter Chicken I’ve been craving, a range of spiced curries from Banglatown, exquisite grills from Little Beirut, and lip-smackingly good, falling off the bone Beef Stroganoff from Little Italy. They also have a Soho stall featuring Peking Duck rolls, as well as British classics including good old Fish n’ Chips with mashed peas and tarter, and Yorkshire Pudding.
The brunch starts off with a wide array of starters at the table including a smorgasbord of fresh seafood, an Italian buratta salad, tacos, and my absolute favorite, Duck Fois Gras.
The mains are then selected at the counters and made fresh, and served to the table.
We downed it all with delectable cocktails, and the barman is obliging enough to create concoctions per taste.
The ambiance here is absolutely vibrant with live music and a display of London memorabilia including the iconic red telephone booth and drool-worthy posters of British personalities including Beckham.
The London Social brunch runs from 1pm to 4 pm every Friday.
Jubilee: AED 395 per person inclusive of non-alcoholic shandies, mocktails, juices and soft drinks.
Victoria: AED 495 per person inclusive of signature summer cups, distinct selection of mixed house beverages, craft hops, grape, spirits and sparkling grape.
Piccadilly: AED 650 per person inclusive of signature summer cups, distinct selection of mixed house beverages, craft hops, spirits, grape and premium sparkling.
Children below 5 dine with our compliments, while 6 to 12 dine at 50%.
