We are under a month away from Christmas! Where has the year gone? The 3 week school break will be here before we know it, and I have been pretty slack with planning out my holiday plans. Are you off to someplace exotic? I am in dire need of a holiday, and envy the social feeds of frequent flyers. 

But living in Dubai has its major perks, especially for the foodie in me. My tastebuds took a world tour at the newly launched Pergolas 7 Fusion Brunch with a gastronomic spread paying ode to all the major cuisines around the globe. 

Located in the palatial settings of Roda Al Murooj with an open patio looking out to the stunning pool facade, this is the perfect idle brunch that even the most discerning of guests will appreciate being invited to.

As the name suggests, the brunch has 7 live stations spread across the restaurant. From the Tex-Mex corner and Mediterranean stand, to the fresh Sushi & Seafood corner and Indian buffet, guests ate to their heart’s content. They also have a live barbecue station set up outdoors where we piled up on gourmet steak and the choicest of seafood.

My personal favorites included the self-serviced laksa soup counter, and the very well-stocked smoked salmon spread. I can literally live on smoked salmon, and have never come across a buffet with so many variations. There was a soya-marinated version, another spiced with chili flakes and yet another with sprinkles of mixed herb. So many options, so little time.

And let’s not forget the dessert counter. From a smorgasbord of international, Arabic and Indian delights, there was something to satiate every sweet-tooth. They even have an ice-cream counter, and I’d highly recommend a scoop of pistachio from here.

They also have a dedicated kid’s corner with a special buffet catering to the tastes of little ones. There’s cartoons playing, and a few playing props, but my little girl was a little disappointed to see the bouncy castle was significantly deflated. 

Adding to the chilled out vibes of the brunch, a live DJ spins out party beats and later announces a number of party-style games for all the diners. You can have a go at fishing out these floating balls at the fountain and win special vouchers including brunch vouchers, and a hotel stay at Roda Al Murooj. 

Overall, the Pergolas 7 Fusion Brunch is an absolute treat. The ambiance is up-class and welcoming, the staff are friendly and very helpful, and the buffet has a wide range of delicacies to cater to every taste.
