Every Friday, Katana Dubai hosts its Red Sun Brunch from 12 noon to 4 pm where diners get served a 25-course tour of three popular styles of Japanese cooking.

Some of my favorites from the brunch included the Salmon Tataki Salad (for which the chef kindly served the salmon on the side as I was dining with a vegetarian friend), the Moriawase Tempura (an assortment of vegetables and seafood deep-fried with a crisp golden brown tempura shell) and an array of juicy charcoal-grilled skewers. However, the star of the brunch was the absolutely divine, decadently marinated Short Ribs in Asian Marinade.
