Le Meridien Hotel on Airport Road Dubai houses a number of award-winning restaurants, and this includes one of my favorite Thai places, Sukhothai.
Inspired by the Sukhothai dynasty, the architecture and ambiance of this place resonates a timeless era of Thailand. The menu here is extensive as it is exotic, and given the menu pricing, we often reserve a booking here for a special night out.
But I have great news… Sukhothai has launched their Thai Street Food Nights every Tuesday from 7 pm to 11.45 pm, and this unlimited buffet costs a mere AED 149 per person!
The Street Food Night is set up on the outdoor patio of the restaurant. With retro food carts and swaying paper flags, a night of feasting here transports the mind to an exotic nook in Thailand.
A very attractive, slim young Thai girl, all decked up in traditional finery, performed a dance sequence for onlooking guests.
A waft of the freshly grilled satay sticks entices the palate, and a friendly lady at the Pad Thai counter will stir up your noodles just the way you like it.
My favorites from the night included the very creamy, flavorful Green Curry, the freshly pounded Som Tam (Papaya Salad) and the Mango Sticky Rice pudding (made here with authentic Thai black rice).
I am definitely making another booking for the Sukhithai Thai Street Food Night. At AED 149, this is a bargain deal and the outdoor setting is absolutely magical. Best to make use of the last few days of breezy alfresco weather while we can! Your Tom Yum Soup will taste better for it 🙂
