Looking for a wholesome Iftar spread with the family, with a hit of good old Peri Peri? South African chain Galito’s has put together a Iftar Platter this Ramadan, and we went for a tasting at the Dubai Festival City branch.
You have a choice of two platters here; the chicken platter (priced at AED 109) and the mixed platter (priced at AED 179).
The Chicken Iftar platter features succulent boneless chicken breasts, chicken satay with peri-nut and yogurt mayo dips, chicken espetada with onions and green peppers; traditionally marinated, flame grilled to perfection and accompanied by Peri-Hummus, pita breads, and a choice of 2 sides.
We indulged in the Mixed Platter. This features three delicacies; the Peri-Peri chicken, grilled prawns and the lamb espetada with onions and peppers. The mixed platter is also served with peri-hummus, pita breads and choice of 2 sides.
Keeping in mind the needs of the thirsty faster, both platters are accompanied with bottomless glasses of soft drinks and a decadently rich sticky date pudding to end the Iftar experience on a sweet note.
One platter is easily sufficient for two! And if you are still hungry, I would suggest you try out Galito’s brand new twist on a Mexican classic; the Peri Chicken Tacos! I am absolutely in love with the idea of adding tangy hot Peri Peri to Mexican.
The Ramadan platters are available at all 8 of the Galito’s restaurants at Al Wahda Mall, Yas Mall, Marina Mall & Dalma Mall in Abu Dhabi, Bay Square, Dubai Festival City Mall, Riverland Dubai Parks in Dubai and Al Naeem Mall in RAK.
