The Numaish Winter Show is happening tomorrow! Can’t wait! It’s always a pleasure browsing through the stalls of their selected designers, and I have always managed to come home with a very unique piece.

Today I am introducing you to Anuj Bhutani. Do look out for his very wearable and oh so stylish pieces at the Numaish Winter Show (happening this Saturday at Murooj Rotana from 11 am to 9 pm).

What inspired you to become a fashion designer?

My love for clothes and creativity is what drove me to pursue fashion. Have always been inclined to creating different styles and comfort clothing.

 

Tell us more about the latest collection that you are showcasing at Numaish.

The latest collection is all about textures and fabrics are that sustainable and comfortable. We have kept in mind to create the best of designs that are as basic and stylish as possible.

 

What are the key inspirations behind this collection?

Our key inspiration is comfort clothing and travel based clothes.

 

How does Indian fashion stand out from the rest of the world?

Indian fashion is all about elegance and grace with a touch of our culture which makes it stand out. Our embroideries are so vast that there is so much to explore and create. Every fabric, every embroidery differs from state to state and it always has a story to tell, there is a lot of history in the Indian fashion which gives us a vast range of inspiration.

 

Where do you see Indian fashion in the next five years?

Indian fashion has been growing and will continue to do so, not just in terms of our indian wear but designers have reached great heights even in the international market.

 

In your opinion, how does the fashion scene of the UAE differ from the rest of the world?

People are very aware of the latest trends and are very stylish, they are not scared to experiment and they like to stay up to date with the current fashion and trends.

 

 

Please list 5 key wardrobe essentials for an Indian wardrobe.

A saree, an elegant angrakha, a  lehenga choli , a  pair of chand balis,  and a beautiful phulkari duppatta. A daily wear light trenchcoat,my addidas shoes, A draw string trouser, my shades and A nice white shirt.

 

Please list 5 fashion essentials for Winter 2016.

A trenchcoat, a bomber jacket, a woolen scarf, boots and a classic overcoat.

 

What kinds of fabrics/weaves can we expect to see more of this season?

Neoprene, cotton slub, rayon and wool blend are some of the fabrics that we have used in our latest collection.

 

What is the color trend to look out for this season?

Green and red are two primary colors this season.

 

Given UAE does not have a very cold winter, what would you suggest for a stylish winter look?

Keeping in mind the weather a nice cotton separates along with a light  trenchcoat would be ideal.

 

What else do you have in store for 2016? 

Draw string tops and jackets, shift dresses and bell trousers with crop tops.

 

What are the key trends to look out for in the coming months?

Suits and overalls, straight fit trousers and detailed dresses.
