I can sniff the weekend! Heading off to yet another Friday brunch tomorrow? Perhaps you just want to sleep in for a change, and head out for a chillaxed feast at a leisurely 8 pm or later? I was at the Meridien Village Terrace last Friday. With a lavish spread, flowing beverages and live music to boot, their Friday ‘Latino Latino Nights’ are just the place to be!
The UAE can finally boast of breezy-beautiful evenings, and what better way to spend a laid-back Friday with friends and family than under the stars?
The theme of the night changes every day of the week. Click here for details. Friday being ‘Latino Latino’ night, we were being treated to a special fare of Tex-Mex favorites including paellas and a self-service nachos and tacos counter.
The buffet includes a great deal of live cooking stations. You can choose from a wide range of poultry, meats and seafood and have them grilled the way you like it, right on the spot. A separate, clearly labelled grill is reserved for pork lovers.
Those with a sweet-tooth are spoilt for choice with a wide range of puddings, bakes, mousses and ice-cream. They even have a live crepe-making counter.
And what about the drinks, you ask? I for one, had a whole lot of mojitos! They have quite a variety of flavors including, Lemongrass, Ginger and my favorite, the very vibrantly red Raspberry Mojito.
Here is a look at the rest of the alcoholic menu:
The tables are lined up with perfect view of the stage where a band strings out lively, popular tunes. A few drinks down, and an enthusiastic bunch make their way onto the stage, showing off all kinds of hipster moves to a live rendition of Shakira’s hip-swaying ‘Waka Waka’.
The service at Meridien Village Terrace is absolutely commendable. We were hosted by the very lovely Jennifer who really went out of her way to make us feel comfortable. My 5 year-old took a particular liking to her, and even followed her up to the stage to shake a leg with the boisterous crowd!
Still on the fence on where to celebrate your Friday this weekend? I suggest you sleep in, and head out for a very festive ‘Latino Latino’ night at the Meridien Village Terrace! The festivities start from 8 pm, and go on till 11 pm.
