Our social calendar has been flooded with Iftar invites this month, and last night took us to The Shores restaurant at Ramada Plaza JBR.
The Shores is the Ramada Plaza JBR’s all-day dining concept, and the menu for Iftar has been revamped to accommodate the more traditional fare for Ramadan.
An array of dried fruits and savory appetizers line up one side of the buffet; a plethora of choices for breaking the fast.
The buffet has a dedicated stall catering to a mix of Arabic salads. A new one for me was the Goat’s Tongue Salad, an Arabic-style coleslaw with slices of salted goat’s tongue. The lightness of the salad is offset with the robust meaty flavor of the meat, quite an interesting mix.
Drink options include the traditional Arabic Jalab (a date and rose water concoction), an Arabic style yogurt drink and an array of fresh juices that can be ordered to the table.
Traditional kharouf (a roasted whole lamb) makes an appearance on the menu nestled on a bed of savory pilaf.
The dessert isle includes a variety of sweet treats from a variety of cheesecakes to slices and tarts, and Arabic favorites like Kunafa, Baklavas and Umm Ali.
The Iftar buffet at Ramada Plaza JBR is priced at AED 149 per person. Right now, you can get an even better deal of AED 85 per person via Cobone.
