The very lovely Arundhati from the Sandcastle blog nominated The Tezzy Files for the Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award. Thanks a ton Arundhati, you made my day!
As a nominee of this award, Arundhati has sent me a set of questions. Here goes:
In one word, how would you like your readers to describe your blog?
Which is your most favorite among your blog posts? Why?
Tezzy: Every post has had some significance to me in one way or another, so its hard to pinpoint one post. My interview with radio celeb Malavika got me very excited. She is so bubbly and was as excited as I was even though The Tezzy Files was brand new just then. My recent post on Bihu has a personal significance to me introducing the lesser known Indian state of Assam. I also had a lot of fun writing up the Ping Pong restaurant review while other diners gave me odd glances as I clicked every dish with my Nikon!
What/Who inspires most of your blog posts?
Tezzy: Living in the UAE and working closely with the media field, I meet many interesting people on a daily basis. Sometimes a certain conversation sparks off a common interest. Take Jason Dalmeida for example. Jason is a freelance photographer, and I have used him for my corporate needs. When we got talking, it turns out he has a vested interest in blogging as well, and so I decided to cover him here!
What do you aspire to accomplish this year?
Tezzy: Blogging is my new addiction! I am psyched with the response I’ve had in these first two months of blogging, and am hoping 2015 will be a great year for me as a blogger.
What do you aspire to learn this year?
Tezzy: If you are following The Tezzy Files, you might have read my #100healthydays posts. Through this initiative, I am hoping to learn more on clean eating and living a simpler, happier life.
What is your most favorite book? Why?
Tezzy: That’s a tough one, I have too many! Right now I’m rereading Khaled Hosseini’s ‘A Thousand Splendid Suns’. He is a master storyteller. I love how he can write so simply through the eyes of a child, and craft together such a profoundly morbid storyline.
What is your most favorite quote?
Tezzy: Every cloud has a silver lining.
What is the most courageous thing you’ve ever done?
Tezzy: Moving to the UAE! I met my husband online. I was living in New Zealand. Getting married and moving to the other end of the world was quite a culture shock. Eight years on, I am happy to call the UAE ‘home’.
If you can be a superhero, what is your superpower?
Tezzy: I’d love to time-travel!
Who is your female role model?
Tezzy: Call me cliché but I really look up to my mum. She is such a powerhouse of strength and emotions. From celebrity personalities, I believe Oprah Winfrey is a lady every young woman should aspire to be. From the movies, I love Gwenyth Paltrow for her natural beauty and for refusing to go under the knife. The foodie in me has a girl-crush on Nigella Lawson (she proves that it is humanely possible to look that hot at 50 despite having a major weakness for desert and wine!). And my fashion icon is the very funky Iris Apfel who is still making waves in the fickle world of fashion despite being in her nineties.
So, these are the rules for the Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award:
- Thank the blogger who nominated you, linking back to their site
- Put the Award logo on your blog
- Answer the ten questions sent to you
- Make up ten new questions for your nominees to answer (I’ll just stick with Arundhati’s!)
- Nominate seven blogs
My nominees are:
I look forward to your Q&A my dear blogging sisters, happy blogging!
