Playing tourist in my own city, the family and I headed out for a staycation at Manzil Downtown last weekend. Located at the heart of Downtown Dubai, just a stone’s throw away from The Dubai Mall and closeup views of the iconic Burj Khalifa, Manzil Downtown is the perfect choice for tourists and residents alike.
‘Manzil’ translates to ‘home’ in Arabic, and with its minimalist design accentuated with Arabesque decor, this hotel is an ideal place to unwind. Despite being a long-term resident of Dubai, Manzil Downtown made us forget we are in the center of the city. The ambiance is one of serenity and calm, and the staff are well versed, efficient, and very hospitable.
I am so happy to see many of you found the last blog post by my dear friend Nouf useful. She really is an inspiration for those of us still contemplating on getting started with yoga (click here if you missed it). When can I start? Do I need new clothes? Where can I practice? If daunting questions like these are swimming through your head, Nouf is back with more tips on how to get started. Go on, have a read… and hopefully I’ll see you stretching into an asana soon!
Yoga is not a passing phase, it is an ancient art of well-being that has been practiced for centuries. I introduced you to the lovely Sue Flamm, founder of Puja Yoga, in a recent blog post. How many of you are like me, still contemplating on rolling out that yoga mat, but far too cynical, or just plain lazy to get a head start?
I first heard of Puja Yoga from my friend Nouf. She is an inspiration for lazy bums like me. What started off as a brief trial at getting fitter, ended up becoming a ‘can’t live without’ life obsession for this very fit, firm and flexible young lady. Today’s post is a Guest Post by my dear friend Nouf. Read on about her inspiring journey into the world of yoga, and learn how she has incorporated it into her everyday life.
The beauty industry is slowly but surely shifting to a more organic stance. A plethora of age-old natural ingredients have been reintroduced in new-age packaging, and by far the leader of the roost has been the very sought-after Argan Oil.
What is Argan Oil? Where does it come from? Why is it such a beauty hype? Read on for more.
We had a very memorable, chilled-out staycation at Hilton Al Ain. Our day was lined up with siestas in our suite, splashes by the pool, and a delicious lineup of gastronomy at Flavours restaurant and Makani Cafe.
Hilton Al Ain is also renowned for Paco’s, Al Ain’s most happening Tex-Mex bar featuring award-winning live entertainment by a very talented band called “Steel”.
‘Comptoir’ is French for counter, and is often associated with fancy little canapes at a casual bar scene. However, Comptoir 102 has nothing to do with late-night drinking. On the contrary, this groovy little nook on Jumeirah Beach Road is all about healthful, nutritionally sound eating.
