When I got asked to share beauty tips with Abu Dhabi Week, I was beyond flattered. Abu Dhabi Week is undoubtedly the most widely read weekly in the capital, and to get featured here alongside well-known local beauty celebrities is an honor indeed.

I talked to Abu Dhabi Week about Strobing (you can read more on this in my earlier blog post). Here’s the feature in Abu Dhabi Week (17-23 Jan, 2016):

We’ve all heard about Shea Butter. It’s one of those hyped up beauty ingredients that get highlighted on hydrating potions all the time. But what if you could get your hands on raw, natural shea butter all on its own sans any chemical mix-ups?

I got my hands on a jar of this lovely beauty product by Mother Nature from the African stall at Global Village last year, and have been looking for a local supplier ever since. Then I get sent this generously large glass jar from Shea Butter DXB and I am over the moon!

When colleagues Deepinder Goyal and Pankaj Chaddah founded Zomato way back in 2008, little did they know of how phenomenally successful their online restaurant search site would be. Featuring real restaurant reviews from everyday foodies like you and me, Zomato currently spans over 23 countries and is aiming to take over the globe.Viraj-Sawant

Zomato has taken the UAE foodie scene by storm. You are as likely to see the ‘Rate Me on Zomato’ sticker in fancy-shmancy restaurants  as the humble ‘hole in the wall’ cafeterias, and the site currently has over 2,000 highly enthusiastic, food-reviewing ‘Zomans’ across the globe. What is the story behind Zomato’s unprecedented success? I had a chitchat with Zomato UAE’s Business Head Viraj Sawant.

The demand for high-quality, authentic Italian food in the UAE is on the rise, and with it comes a whole new listing of Italian eateries who pride themselves on using the finest of ingredients available.

One such restaurant is Per Te. I just can’t seem to rave enough about Chef Glady’s immaculate Italian creations, and last Saturday morning, he was sweet enough to take me to his goldmine for Italian cheeses; Italian Dairy Products.

Owned and operated by the very enthusiastic Mr. Leo Condemi who is an Italian national himself, Italian Dairy Products is located in Hamriyah Free Zone (Phase 2), Sharjah and is the only supplier of freshly made buffalo cheese in the UAE.

Conceptualized and created in 1996, Galito’s frame-grilled chicken was a well-loved secret in the Mpumalanga City of Nelspruit (South Africa) for a good seven years till it took flight and opened several branches across Africa, Canada and recently the Middle East.

We still don’t have Galito’s in Dubai, but in Abu Dhabi they have 4 (Galito’s Abu Dhabi branches are in Yas Mall, Al Wahda Mall, Marina Mall and Dalma Mall). We were in Yas Island last weekend, and I was therefore delighted to have received an invitation to try out the Galito’s branch in Yas Mall.

We were on Yas Island last weekend, and stayed at the very stylish Viceroy hotel. Yas Marina is a line of chic eateries facing the harbor, and is literally ‘across the ditch’ from Viceroy. Our evening soiree saw us at Iris, Yas Marina. Cooler weather is finally here, and we had a lovely laid-back time sitting alfresco, and could even see our hotel glimmering across the shimmering night waters.

The evening breeze coupled with Iris’ mellowed lighting and rustic wooden architecture made for a magical ambiance over drinks.

We spent last weekend at Viceroy hotel. Set half on water and half on land, Viceroy on the man-made Yas Island of Abu Dhabi is set right on top of the Yas Marina Circuit. You therefore get great views of the race track, and a continuous vroom-vroom of the race cars as they whiz across the circuit.

Sunday morning, and I’m back at the start of yet another rigorous week of work. I spent a lovely, fun-filled weekend with the family on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi. The weather has cooled down significantly, and we enjoyed leisurely walks around the island, did some window-shopping in Yas Mall, and stayed the night at the very futuristic Viceroy hotel.

I kept my outfit comfy and casual, and funked it up with colorful accessories.

Kaftans, the modestly long flowing dress synonymous of the women of the Middle East, are also known as jalabiya and dara’a.

With the holy month of Ramadan fast approaching, the social calendar is filling up with Iftar invites and a stylish kaftan would make the ideal choice of attire.

The lovely ladies at Dalila’s Kaftans sent me this stunning red beauty, and I just had to share some clicks with you!

Adam is a qualified architect. A chance encounter with fashion led him to apprentice with a house of fashion for over 8 years. This helped Adam strengthen his wings, and he soon took flight into the colorful, magical world of fashion.

Today we talk to Adam about his journey into fashion, how he seamlessly blends East with West, and what he believes every fashionable person should have in their wardrobes.
