Patriotically Glamorous

2nd December is just two weeks away. Hooray to another long weekend! Time to get all patriotic and remix the flag colors into something fashionably acceptable (because actually wearing the UAE flag would be so faux pas!).

I am planning to wear the patriotic nail-polish shades by Paese. Retailing at AED 39, these nail-polishes give the nails a look and feel of fine, sparkling sand. With so much sparkle, you can easily skip the topcoat. It is fast-drying and best of all, the color is guaranteed to last all week long!

The Hand of Fatima (The Hamsa Charm)

I’ve always been a sucker for mythical luck-enhancing talismans and the healing powers of gemstones, so it’s no surprise that I’ve accumulated quite a few pieces of the gorgeous Mediterranean Hamsa jewelry. I wear a tiny silver Hamsa as a charm on my silver bracelet, I have an antique-style Turkish Hamsa ring, and my latest buy is this huge silver Hamsa pendant embedded with semi-precious stones (it’s just under 10 cm in length! I love huge statement jewelry pieces).

My Perfect Leather Tote

What makes the perfect tote? Picture1

I have always favored big bags over small. It makes practical sense in my world. My ideal bag needs to fit in a truckload of things; my wallet, makeup stash, ipad, sunnies, and preferably have a separate compartment with easy access to my phone and keys. It also needs to accommodate sudden trips out with bubby (think baby wipes, water bottles, snacks).

To top it off, it needs to be super stylish and pretty light-weight (I’ve had bags that weigh down on my poor shoulder even when empty).

On the right is a compilation of leather totes I loved from Pinterest. I love the look of worn leather. It has a rustic worn-out charm and manages to look great with anything. The hunt was on, I needed a high quality leather bag that could easily take me from the boardroom to a day out with my toddler.
