Can you believe we are already past the half-way mark in the holy month of Ramadan? Where has the time gone? I hope you are having a very peaceful, blessed month of inner introspection and special time with the family.
Have you been to many iftars this month? I have been trying to watch what I eat and limiting my iftars out to weekends only.
Last Saturday, we visited Novotel (World Trade Centre) for iftar. Their all-day dining restaurant Entre Nous has been transformed into a Bedouin-style majlis, and the buffet features a lineup of Arabic favorites that are changed on a daily basis.
The costs AED 139 per person, and children under 12 pay half-price. The buffet is open from sunset till 11pm.
Given the hotel is right next door to the Dubai World Trade Centre, this is a very centrally located iftar option for catching up with friends who live on other ends of the city.
The arabesque setting is invitingly cozy, and the staff are more than eager to be of assistance.
Some of my favorites from the buffet included the Stuffed Kusa (a Mediterranean classic featuring zucchini stuffed with cooked rice and minced meat), the Spinach with Lamb and Chickpeas, the Butter Chicken (the only non-Arabic dish I could spot from the mains) and a very rich, dense Chocolate Mousse Cake.
