We were invited for Iftar at ‘The Eatery’ last evening, and really enjoyed the variety of dishes on offer.

Located on the ground floor of Four Points by Sheraton, The Eatery is the hotel’s all-day dining restaurant offering a casual dining experience in a contemporary-styled, well lit ambiance.

For Ramadan, the Iftar buffet features a number of Arabic favorites including Lamb Ouzi (a traditional Arabic baked lamb served on spiced rice), Hot Mezzeh (a platter of Arabic finger-foods including kebbeh, spinach and cheese pastries and samosas), Arabic salads and spreads, and the ever-popular Umm Ali (a traditional Arabic bread pudding).

However, the buffet is not limited to an Arabic fare. A wide variety of continental dishes take up the buffet space.

As a huge fan of salmon, I believe only the best buffets include salmon on the menu, and The Eatery had me grinning ear to ear. There was raw salmon in the salad isle, and a very moist and delicious salmon dish as a part of the mains.

The mains were served by The Eatery’s open-style kitchen, and included dishes from Morocco, India and the Far East.

My daughter’s favorite dish from the mains was the deep-fried battered chicken, a clever addition to the menu for fussy little eaters.

The dessert isle is brimming with delicate little pastries. A very rich chocolate mousse cake took center stage, and was pretty much demolished by the time I got to it. I really enjoyed the Strawberry Cheesecake; doesn’t the presentation look stunning?

Another one of my favorites from the dessert isle was this cute little pot of Rice Pudding. The pudding was creamy and rich on milky goodness, and loaded with dried fruit. I helped myself to two pots of these!
