Of all the steak houses I’ve been to in Dubai, the highest marbling of wagyu beef I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating has been at The Meat Co (a prime 9+ Aussie wagyu steak). These guys are really serious about their meat, and they are also one of the very few that offer to serve meat ‘blue’ (below ‘rare’, and served ‘sealed’, very red in the center and at room temperature). In a nutshell, they are true-blue meat experts.

I love this South African chain! Apart from their very specialized cuts, the ambiance at both their branches is magical, and the service faultless. So when I got invited to taste their brand new menu last week, the carnivore in me gave out a roar of delight! After a bout of shopping at The Dubai Mall, we made our way to The Meat Co in Souk Al Bahar.

Yay for the long weekend! The UAE celebrates its 44th National Day tomorrow, and we get two days off. Add the mandatory weekend of Friday and Saturday, and we’ll be out of the office for 4 days flat 🙂

What are your long weekend plans? I bet eating good grub is one of them! Why not whip up a wonderfully simple yet spot-on delicious sweet treat right in the comfort of your very own kitchen? With Nutella as the main ingredient, you know its going to be sinfully good!

The folks at The Meat Co have very generously shared their recipe for Nutella Cheesecake. Do give it a go!

What was my first impression of The Meat Co? Simply “wow”! Walking into this South African steakhouse set in picturesque Souk Al Bahar transports the senses into another world altogether.

Theatrically dim amber lighting, embossed leather upholstery with a rustic touch of the Africans, and an introduction to the hip-swaying rhythms of shosholaza. The ambiance at The Meat Co is simply magical.
