My boho soul found a holistic sanctuary in the heart of Jumeirah, Dubai at newly rebranded Seva Experience.
Originally launched as Life’n One, Seva is Dubai’s very first exclusively plant-based cafe, yoga and meditation studio, wellness center and shop .
I have a never-ending love for color, and when it comes to personal style, I am particularly drawn to rich textures and patterns that have some form of cultural significance.
I am a bohemian at heart, and when I saw this outlandishly tribal jacket at Zara, I knew it was calling my name.
When I first saw Nisha wearing this gorgeous dress from www.shein.com I wanted it bad! Come birthday month, and my lovely young colleague and friend manages to get me one too 🙂
May was ‘birthday month’ for the both of us, although I am over a decade older than Nisha (let’s not get into numbers, ok?). At this age, I thought I’d be growing more sober with my fashion sense… but so glad that’s not happening! I can still relate to the tastes of a fresh graduate, so that must be something. I am young at heart 🙂
Our dresses are identical, apart from the color. I love the print; it looks so Arabesque yet so boho all at once. The fabric is super light and airy, and add to it the thigh-high slits and you have quite a head-turning summer dress!
I really enjoyed playing dressup in the closet of Anisha Lalani, the creative genius behind the swimwear label Blue Ink Beachwear. We showed you how to expand the use of swimwear beyond the pool and the beach. With a little clever styling, you can take your swimwear to the boardroom, for a night out, and even make a fashion statement while lounging by the pool. Three looks down, I begged the girls to do a fourth. A boho chic at heart, I wanted to extend our play into this genre. It is really interesting to see how very different each of our 3 looks turned out to be!
Although sunny UAE doesn’t officially have four seasons, the fashionistas of Dubai ensure their wardrobes are updated with the latest hues. Autumn colors are upon us. Deep, dark suede browns and wine maroons with a spark of playful orange!
The hippie in me is super excited about Mango’s Boho Night A/W 2015 collection. The colors beautifully spell out ‘Autumn’, and the tasseled detailing and folklore prints are magically Bohemian.
Here are a few key pieces I’m craving:
I love boho. There’s something magical about the play of colors and ethnic prints, and how it all effortlessly comes together with the suave simplicity of a Western silhouette.
When I saw this Stella Jean dress on the Moda Operandi site, I couldn’t resist putting it together with Steve Madden’s knee-high gladiator sandals, and recreate a look of my own.
Here’s wishing you all a very merry, blessed Christmas…
We all have a favorite color, but it turns out that color is far from child’s play. Fatima Al Shirawi has it down to a science.
Fatima Al Shirawi is an Emirati entrepreneur, and a qualified Color Psychologist. She is the face behind the phenomenal brand The Gracious F, and I had the pleasure of meeting her this weekend to gain a better insight into her colorful world.
